Topanga PAL creates opportunities for inner-city youth to participate in athletic, educational, cultural and community enrichment programs - building confidence and self esteem in today’s youth for a brighter tomorrow. It is designed to divert the youth of our city away from gangs and criminal activity by providing a wide variety of positive recreational activities under the supervision of trained
police officers and motivated volunteers. Topanga PAL is not just any program offering after school activities. What makes PAL unique is the interaction between police officers with the children in this program, their families, and the greater community. These interactions cement a bond between law enforcement and the community that is imperative in establishing a trusting relationship between both sectors.
