🚨 SCAM ALERT: Beware of fake "call transfers" to Social Security or Office of the Inspector General 🚨

Scammers are impersonating well-known retailers, other government agencies, and even law enforcement — then falsely claiming to transfer your call directly to the Social Security Administration (SSA) or the SSA Office of Inspector General (OIG).

Legitimate companies and other agencies CANNOT transfer your phone call directly to SSA or OIG. If a call connects you to someone claiming to be from SSA or OIG, it is a scam, without exception, every time.

What To Do:
• Hang up immediately. Do not press any numbers or stay on the line to be transferred.
• Do not trust caller ID alone; scammers can spoof legitimate government numbers.
• Contact SSA directly using phone numbers you find yourself, not those provided during the call.
• If you are concerned about fraudulent charges, call your bank or retailer directly.
• Change login credentials for any accounts that may have been compromised.
• Report the scam at oig.ssa.gov/report.

Summer is here! In Minnesota, that means SUN Bucks is back to combat childhood hunger for the third year in a row. Eligible school-aged children will receive $120 in SUN Bucks grocery benefits to help buy healthy lunches while school is not in session. Providing access to nutrition in the summer helps kids thrive all year long. Benefits have already been issued to many eligible families, while others will receive theirs later this summer.

If you haven’t received a text message or email from the SUN Bucks program yet and believe your child is eligible, contact your child’s school for the Application for Educational Benefits (also known as the application for free or reduced-price school meals).

Submit this application to your child’s school by Aug. 31, 2026 to be considered for 2026 SUN Bucks benefits.

Find out who is eligible for SUN Bucks and see all the FAQs at https://dcyf.mn.gov/sun-bucks
