Each year, Anheuser-Busch pauses beer production to produce emergency drinking water, and in
partnership with National Volunteer Fire Council, ensures volunteer firefighters have the critical hydration they need during
extreme heat. We’re proud to be one of the departments receiving this donation to help keep our team
hydrated during wildfires and extended responses. A big thank you to Adams Beverages of NC for delivering the
water to our station!

Congratulations to our high school graduate this year, Miss Riley Lefler. 🎓 She is the daughter of Jason & Lori Lefler of Candor.

What started a few years ago as a junior
firefighter has grown into a true commitment to her community. Over the last few years, she has dedicated countless hours helping our department, assisting with the ladies auxiliary, supporting community events, and now proudly serving as a volunteer firefighter.

Riley graduated from Montgomery Central High School and Montgomery Community College with an Associate in Arts and Phi Theta Kapa honors.

She will attend Western Carolina University in the Fall to pursue her degree in Emergency & Disaster Management.

Riley is excited to continue serving her hometown of Candor as a volunteer firefighter as well as the Eagle Springs community as a firefighter and working at the fitness center.

We are incredibly proud to watch her continue chasing her goals while staying committed to serving others.

Friday our Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary had the honor again of helping the Candor Police Department with Shop With a Cop. Seeing the smiles, laughter, and excitement reminded us why community matters so much.
