The Canadian Education Foundation was founded in 2011 by a group of caring and committed citizens with a vision to enhance educational opportunities and student success at Canadian ISD. CEF has a volunteer board of directors composed of business, community and educational leaders who govern the foundation. Members of the foundation include Courtney Trolinger, Haley Ward, Theresa Holdstock, Brooke Richardson, Michelle Thompson, Tessa Cox, Deana Stephens, Cheryl Hohertz, Amanda Lefever, Becky Wilson, Alexis Beck, Sally Whittle, Colby Leach and Heath Mitchell

Since its inception, the foundation has awarded over $90,000 in innovative teacher grants to well deserving teachers. This year the foundation is excited to present $14,567.90 to 3 exceptional Canadian ISD grants.

Lots of people to thank but wanted to say a special thanks to our own Barry Stephenson Class of 1980. Barry graciously agreed to be our Master of Ceremonies and I think we can all agree he went above and beyond! Thank you Barry for keeping the traditions alive and being a true Wildcat through and through!

One of the absolute best highlights was recognizing and honoring who we believe to be the oldest living Canadian High School graduate.
Lem Waggoner graduated in 1939 from CHS. He wanted to deliver a video message at the assembly but unfortunately wasn’t able. His daughter sent greetings and well wishes to everyone. He served in WWII and lives in the San Diego area. Below is a link to a birthday celebration his community did in his honor back in August.
