A few weeks ago we were honored by Stanford University's Housing Equity Project (SHEP) for our "trusting partnership, unwavering support of SHEP students, and tireless work to promote housing equity in the Bay Area."

We are grateful not just to SHEP and the Eye4Equity Team, but also to the other Stanford groups who have joined our program recently, including:

-Stanford University School of Medicine Outreach Program (SMOP)
-Stanford Cardinal Free Clinics (CFC)
-Otero Public Service and Civic Engagement Theme Dorm
-Google Developer Student Club (Havenlink)

With so many from Nerd Nation (their words, not ours!) sacrificing their Saturday AM sleep to attend our "party-in-the-park", we must be doing something right??

Big thanks to our friends at San José Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services and Adopt-a-Park for honoring our "outstanding volunteer events and community engagement at Guadalupe Gardens" at yesterday's PRNS Volunteer Recognition Event!

To the 280+ volunteers who make our events possible every other Saturday -- THIS HONOR IS FOR YOU!! We can't thank you enough for sharing your gifts with our community. We are stronger because of it!

We are incredibly grateful to receive a $29,686 grant from the The Mercury News Wish Book — a generous surprise above our original request!

Thanks to the generosity of readers and donors of The Mercury News, this funding will help Neighborhood Hands continue bringing together housed and unhoused neighbors for our bi-weekly park clean-ups and community gatherings at Guadalupe Gardens in San Jose.

Every Wish Book donation helps fuel something powerful:
✨cleaner public spaces
✨ meaningful connections across our community
✨ stipends and support for neighbors experiencing homelessness or economic insecurity

This year and always, we are grateful for the many, many partners that make our program possible.

In 2026, we owe special thanks to Valley Water and Guadalupe River Park Conservancy for providing funding for our litter removal and outreach efforts to unhoused neighbors via Valley Water’s Safe, Clean Water Standard Grant Program.

If you come across the Neighborhood Hands Community beautifying the Guadalupe River Park Trails on a Saturday morning, please say hello!
