homes to care for the dogs
between being rescued and heading up north. Fostering Foster Animal Rescue was founded by Andrea Walker and a close knit group of devoted animal rescuers that were determined to make a difference in their community. Fostering Foster Animal Rescue is a volunteer driven nonprofit. We are dedicated to rescuing animals, primari

ly dogs, that are in southern kill shelters and that are in desperate need of help. We know that spay and neuter is one way to reduce the number of animals on death row in shelters. We primarily collaborate with northern rescues, shelters and animal leagues to save as many lives as possible. We rely on foster homes to help us save lives and donations to keep us funded. The more foster homes and supporters that we have the more lives we can save. We believe that all dogs have tales to tell and we believe in giving them the chance to wag their tails. All dogs deserve to be loved and cherished and to enrich the lives of their humans. Through community involvement and social awareness we know that one day every dog will have a home. Our founder's very first foster dog was Foster- this rescue's mascot- and boy, oh, boy did Foster have some tales to tell, like how he stole Andrea's heart and became her forever boy. For 15 years, Foster and Andrea were side by side saving lives. In Foster's memory, Fostering Foster Animal Rescue is still saving the lives of animals in need. Every day, our volunteers show up for the animals who depend on us. They feed, clean, walk, comfort, and love pets that are waiting for a second chance.

Right now, we’re looking for a few more dedicated volunteers to join our team and help fill some important weekday and weekend shifts.

Rescue work isn’t possible without people willing to give their time. Whether you can help once a week or a few times a month, your support allows us to continue caring for animals in need and preparing them for their forever homes.

Fostering Fosters runs on the dedication and kindness of our volunteers. Right now, we’re in urgent need of a few dependable volunteers to help us continue supporting the animals who rely on us.

We have openings on both weekdays and weekends, and every helping hand makes a difference. Whether you can commit to a regular shift or help a few times a month, your time directly impacts the lives of animals waiting for their forever homes.

Volunteering can include helping with animal care, cleaning, feeding, walking dogs, socializing animals, and supporting daily operations. No matter your experience level, we’ll help you learn what you need to know.

At Fostering Foster, we’re on a mission to rescue dogs in desperate need, but we can’t do it without YOU! Our rescue is facing a critical shortage of volunteers, and every moment counts. Without your help, we risk losing the ability to care for these precious lives who depend on us. 🐶❤️

We NEED volunteers during the week and on weekends! By committing just a few hours each week, you become a vital part of our team and help ensure that our dogs receive the love and care they so desperately need.

Here’s How You Can Help:
General Care:** Clean kennels, walk dogs, prepare meals & feed these amazing pups.
Socializing:** Help shy puppies and dogs come out of their shells.
Essentials:** Laundry and meal prep are crucial to keep our operations running.
Administrative Support:** Assist with record keeping, scheduling veterinary appointments, and arranging transport.

Oh, this farm life. Unfortunately, we had a little water leak that has affected our ceiling and walls, causing damage to the wood and insulation.

We’re currently in the process of getting everything sorted out, and to help with the drying process, we could really use a dehumidifier. If you are in or near Kershaw Co and happen to have one that you’re able to lend us, or know someone who does, we would greatly appreciate it!

Yesterday, these two severely matted dogs came into our care. Today, thanks to an incredible village, they finally got relief.

Once again, the amazing team at Exquisitely Pampered Pups LLC stepped up and spent hours grooming dogs most people would turn away from. Beneath the mats was pain we couldn’t even fully see at intake — one of these babies had significant skin tearing hidden underneath the tight matting. The neglect these dogs have endured is heartbreaking.

The other pup was absolutely terrified and too scared to safely groom awake. Huge thank you to Dr. Spilker at Veterinary Medicine and Surgery for donating his time and compassion to sedate him so he could finally be groomed comfortably and without fear.

Because of these people, two dogs who spent who knows how long trapped in filth and discomfort are finally able to rest, breathe, and start healing.

It takes a village to save dogs like these — and we are so grateful for ours. ❤️

This morning was something special. 💛

A huge thank you to a wonderful group of 4th and 5th graders from Dobys Mill Elementary School who came out to the farm to volunteer with Fostering Foster.

These kids spent their morning giving our dogs exactly what they needed most — love, attention, and exercise. From walks around the farm to extra cuddles and happy tail wags, every dog soaked up the kindness they brought with them. 🐾

It means so much to see young people learning compassion and taking the time to help rescue dogs feel safe, loved, and cared for. Thank you all for spending your morning making a difference for our pups. We loved having you out here! ❤️
