Rooted in the Heki Ryu Bishu Chikurin-ha tradition, we welcome practitioners of all levels. Byakko Kyudojo is the largest Kyudo dojo in Boston, dedicated to the Japanese art of archery. Founded by Kanjuro Shibata XX, it follows the Heki-ryu Bishu Chikurin-ha tradition. The dojo offers regular training on Sundays in Cambridge, MA, and hosts events and workshops that blend archery with mindfulness a

nd meditation. The Kyudo path begins with the "First Shot," where students learn the equipment (bow, arrow, glove) and shooting technique (Shishido) before shooting their first arrow. This is required to practice at Byakko Kyudojo.
