50% of all Harvard graduates enter the Bermuda Triangle of Talent: banking, consulting, and corporate law. The School for Moral Ambition’s Undergraduate Fellowship serves to disrupt this pipeline.

In our inaugural year, 8% of all Harvard juniors applied to SMA fellowship for just 12 spots, becoming one of the most competitive programs on campus. We’re excited to open our applications for our second cohort this fall, and expand to a new campus!

Our undergraduate fellowship model is built on one major idea: one summer of training designed to result in a lifetime of impact. Fellows learn to spot global problems that are solvable, sizable, and neglected, and then get matched with organizations already tackling them. Along the way, they develop a special bond with a cohort of peers who take impact as seriously as they do, and mentors already doing the work in the field.

The goal is to make impact work the path that ambitious students choose first, not the backup. Stay tuned to hear what campus we’ll be launching our undergraduate fellowship at next!

What if we told you that there was an object that kills 8 million people a year, and is more addictive than a cell phone? That’s exactly what a cigarette is, and we’re fighting the to***co lobby one fellow at a time.

SMA offers an associate fellowship option, where you can stay with your current employer and join the program one day per week. We train and onboard you as part of the cohort, so you can become an advocate for this important cause.

Applications are open until June 30. Apply at moralambition.org/fellowships. Must have EU or UK work allowance to apply.

Sometimes the fastest way to expose a broken policy is to make people laugh at it.

Our fellows working across to***co control and EU food reform did exactly that at this year’s fellowship summit. Their skit spotlighted rules that allow misleading to***co messaging, while banning words like “vegan bacon.”

The numbers are in! 2,587 of you applied for this year’s Moral Ambition Fellowships, and honestly: we’re still processing. Swipe to see some of our favorite numbers from this year’s campaign.

This year’s campaign was our most ambitious yet. Two brand new programs, and a lot of countries we’d never recruited in before. We weren’t sure how it would all land. You showed up! 🚀

So, what’s next? Over the next month, our fellowship team will be vetting candidates and selecting around 30 final fellows. We’ll be in touch with everyone who applied.

PS: To***co associate fellow applications are still open until June 30. It’s a part-time, lower-commitment way into the to***co control fellowship: meant for people in positions or organizations where they can drive change on this issue.

Joachim Verheijen quit his corporate job in Antwerp, joined our fellowship, and two months later found himself facing to***co industry lawyers in a Moldovan parliamentary hearing. Armed with a bingo card of every argument they’d use from his fellowship training, he sat there ticking them off one by one, then he got the mic.

“I saw the to***co industry people looking in my eyes, shaking no, like I was talking nonsense. But deep down you just know that we are on the right side.”

The result? The amendments were passed and stricter to***co laws were adopted by the Moldovan parliament. “That is a huge win for the country,” Joachim says. “I’m not claiming my contributions made the difference, but I hope I played a small part in that success.”

Now he and fellow Alex Nedeltchev have founded Impact Unfiltered and set their sights on Brussels, where e-cigarettes and ni****ne pouches are still governed by rules from 2014. The opportunity is enormous: accelerating stricter regulation by just one year could save over one million healthy life years.
