Cambridge Lions Club

Cambridge Lions Club Serving the citizens of Cambridge, Salem, Shushan, White Creek and Buskirk since 1934 Local Community Projects

Lions are active. Our motto is "We Serve."

Lions are part of a global service network, doing whatever is necessary to help our local communities. Lions give sight. By conducting vision screenings, equipping hospitals and clinics, distributing medicine and raising awareness of eye disease, Lions work toward their mission of providing vision for all. We have extended our commitment to sight conservation through countless local community proj

ects and through our international SightFirst Program, which works to eradicate blindness. Lions serve youth. Our community projects often support local children and schools through scholarships, recreation and mentoring. Internationally, we offer many programs, including the Peace Poster Contest, Youth Camps and Exchange and Lions Quest. And our Leo Program provides personal development through youth volunteer opportunities. There are approximately 144,000 Leos and 5,700 Leo clubs in more than 140 countries worldwide. Lions award grants. Since 1968, the Lions Clubs International Foundation has awarded more than US$700 million in grants to support Lions humanitarian community projects around the world. Together, our Foundation and Lions are helping communities following natural disasters by providing for immediate needs such as food, water, clothing and medical supplies – and aiding in long-term reconstruction.

We are so excited to be working in conjunction with Ondawa-Cambridge Chapter DAR on the celebration of America's 250 years.

The Ondawa-Cambridge Chapter is proud to unveil their newly designed America 250 celebration t-shirts! 🇺🇸

This special design honors the evolution of American women from the time of the American Revolution through today — celebrating the courage, resilience, service, and progress of generations who helped shape our nation’s story.

Featured in the artwork is the beloved green pedestrian bridge, a symbol synonymous with the Village of Cambridge and a reminder of the community connections that continue to unite us across generations.

As we prepare to commemorate America’s 250th anniversary, we are excited to wear this design with pride and celebrate both our nation’s history and the women who continue to make history every day.

On Saturday, February 7th, the Ultimate Cher Experience starring Lisa Carter and the Brand New Neil Diamond Show starring Mike Leonard electrified the Elks Lodge in Greenwich in the 2026 edition of the Cambridge Lions Winter Concert, leaving the audience spellbound. The unforgettable sold-out performance featured the two tribute artists harmonizing on cherished songs, filling the room with boundless joy and passion. Lisa Carter dazzled with her dynamic stage presence and multiple wardrobe changes, while Mike Leonard delivered a captivating performance that embodied Neil Diamond's legendary spirit and sound. The evening culminated in a thrilling tribute to the legends, with Cher’s iconic “Believe” and Neil Diamond’s timeless “Sweet Caroline” bringing the house down. We're deeply grateful to everyone who braved the cold to be part of this extraordinary night, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

It is so important for literacy to read to our your children.

Why aren’t more parents reading to their kids?

A new article from The74 says it’s not just time, it’s also tech. Screens are everywhere. For many young parents, reading feels like school, not fun.

"When we introduce screen time very young, and we don’t manage the amount of time children are spending on screens, … it can be difficult for children to transition from such an exciting medium to a medium like a book that may initially feel not as exciting" - Rebecca Parlakian, Senior Director of Programs, ZERO TOTHREE

But when kids miss out on daily reading, they miss out on a lot: vocabulary, focus, social skills. Read the article: https://bit.ly/4rD4EVR
