Harvard Effective Altruism Effective Altruism (EA) promotes the idea that we should use evidence and reason to do the most good in the world. (3) We can, and do, enjoy doing it!

We are a campus group dedicated to spreading the ideas of effective altruism—that we should apply evidence and reason to find the most effective ways to improve the world. In particular, we promote the ideas that:
(1) We are in a unique position to do good, and it's important that we care. (2) Through rational decision making, we can make a much larger difference.

To help dissolve confusion about FDT and address key concerns of its opponents, I refute the criticism that FDT assumes that causation can happen backward in time and offer two key principles that provide a framework for clearly understanding it."

The Harvard Kennedy School Pareto Fellowship is a weekly reading group applying EA frameworks to help graduate students (at the Kennedy school and beyond) think critically about how to maximize their impact through their careers.

The fellowship is a prestigious opportunity for undergrads to learn more about how to do the most good possible. Each semester, fellows do weekly readings and discussions on the philosophy, psychology, science, politics, and economics at the forefront of making a difference in the world.
