The 2026 Digital Incubator kicked off with our first Pitch Monday, and now teams are moving through expert-led curriculum. Our first week is about team and legal foundations.

Each startup needs to lay a groundwork of basic legal structures to protect their enterprises as they grow.

Teams must ask themselves, “Do we have the right team dynamics, and the right legal setup, to build with confidence?”

Yesterday, our teams learned about the importance of cofounder agreements, incorporation, and equity structures from returning legal expert Aaron Bains, one of Canada’s Top 25 Most Influential Lawyers and Partner at Aird & Berlis LLP.

Swipe through this edition of the Hult Prize Playbook to learn more about cofounders agreements and how to create one for your enterprise!

We began with 18,000 startup ideas. From Qualifiers, through Nationals, to the start of the Digital Incubator, we’ve narrowed that number down to 90.

Representing about 50 countries across seven regions, our remaining competitors will spend the next five weeks working with experts and mentors to evolve their pitches, measure their impact, refine their products and validate their go-to-market strategies.

Coming together for the 2026 cohort are our Nationals winners, our three fast track teams, and teams chosen by our Selection Committee through our rigorous online review process.

After the first successful Pitch Monday of the Digital Incubator, we'd like to wish the best of luck to all our startups!

Stay updated about our teams and their performances through this phase to see who will advance to the Global Accelerator in the UK 🔔

It’s time to officially close out the Hult Prize 2026 Nationals!

Thank you to our global community of hosts, organizers and volunteers for making this year’s Hult Prize Nationals stage such a success! Through your efforts, student entrepreneurs had a platform to amplify their social impact missions and were able to pitch their ideas at 40+ in-person events around the globe.

Congratulations once again to every competitor who pitched during all tracks of the Nationals stage. If you didn’t move forward this round, please keep building and evolving. Hult Prize is just the beginning of your journey. The world needs your optimism, your ideas and your fresh perspective more than ever!

Let’s pass the torch to the 2026 Digital Incubator cohort as they compete for their slot in the Global Accelerator 🔥

She may not have won the million, but an invitation to speak at Davos is priceless 🌐

As we enter the final stages of the 2026 competition, the story of CEO, Diana Virgovicova, is a good reminder that there are many paths to success.

Xatoms pitched at the 2024 Hult Prize Global Finals in London. Though the team made a bold impression on stage, validating their water-purifying material by sipping a glass filled from the River Thames, the team left without the $1M USD in seed-funding.

What they gained instead was even more motivation to prove themselves.

Since then, Xatoms has made North America’s 2025 Forbes Under 30 list, raised a $3 million pre-seed round, launched three pilot projects, and Diana has spoken at the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Xatoms also became the only Canadian company selected in this year’s UpLink cohort, the World Economic Forum’s early-stage innovation engine, securing three years of support.

In this episode of, “I Didn’t Win the Million,” hear from Diana Virgovicova about her journey from Slovakia to the global stage, her mission to make safe drinking water accessible to all, and how falling short at the Global Finals helped drive Xatoms to the forefront of clean technology🚰

Each year, Hult Prize hand picks up to three early-application startup teams demonstrating early traction and scalable impact to be fast tracked through the competition.

In 2025, it was Rivopump (Germany) and Greenairy (Singapore), who advanced all the way to the Global Accelerator.

Congratulations to this year's fast track teams, who received the rare opportunity to advance straight from Qualifiers to the Digital Incubator! 🏁

“When you have all this trust around you, how can you not win?”

This snapshot features ReBrine, a Moroccan team from UM6P - Mohammed VI Polytechnic University, transforming brine wastewater into sustainable microalgae products, along with some of the judges and organizers who helped bring the Morocco Nationals to life.

While founders take the stage, there's an entire team working behind the scenes to create these opportunities. From host universities and organizers, to judges, mentors and volunteers, it takes a village to make the Hult Prize Nationals stage possible.

A special thank you to our hosts at UM6P, ReBrine, Abdelqoudous Fidi, Anas Bounit, Ahmed Haouaria and the entire Hult Prize in Morocco Nationals team for welcoming us and allowing us to capture a small piece of their event 🇲🇦

Thank you to everyone who helped make the 2026 Hult Prize Nationals possible around the world! 🌍
