Good morning,
Due to the current severe storms and the high volume of rainfall, we’ve made the difficult decision to cancel the upcoming golf tournament this weekend at Madisonville CC. After speaking with Madisonville CC this morning, the course has sustained significant water and is currently unplayable. Standing water on several fairways and greens, along with saturated grounds throughout the course, pose both safety risks and a poor playing experience. The conditions simply aren’t suitable for tournament play and won’t improve in time to play Sunday.
After thoroughly exploring every option to reschedule our last cancelled tournament from March 15th, we’ve unfortunately been unable to secure a host course. We’ve reached out to multiple clubs across the region, but most have already finalized their tournament schedules for the season. As it stands, there simply isn’t room to fit in another event without significant disruption to their existing commitments. We understand how disappointing this is and share in that frustration as we are committed to delivering well-run, competitive events.
To make up for at least one of the two missed events, we’ve decided to play 18 holes at Calvert City Golf & Country Club on Sunday, April 13th, as long as the course is playable once any high water subsides. This means players will play 9 holes and continue directly on to play another 9 holes on that Sunday. We will score both 9 holes events after play and award both events at one time. Tee times on Sunday April 13th will begin at 7:30am. Please let us know if you cannot play by this upcoming Wednesday.
Additionally, since that Sunday is scheduled to be our Tour Championship, we’ll also be awarding gift cards and extra trophies for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each divisionbased on the full 18-hole scores. Food will also be available to purchase that day as we will have a grill going by the putting green!
