We had a great turnout for the end of year family game and potluck! Sad to see the season end. Good luck to all our seniors graduating next month. It sure has been a fun year. Thank you to our team sponsor Jim's Pizza Calumet, to the parents and community for all your support, the players for giving us a reason to get out and watch some great hockey and to our coach Andy for taking a bunch of misfits and turning them into a kickass team, again!

Once again, thank you to everyone who made this weekend possible. Players, coaches, parents, families, and our amazing community—this season has been something special. Earning the title of State Runners-Up is an achievement the whole team can be proud of.

We’re incredibly grateful for the generous donations that kept our players stocked with drinks and snacks: Aspirus Keweenaw, Walmart, Harter's Party Store, Hancock Bottling, Pepsi Cola Houghton, Louie's Fresh Market, Dave and Linda Fredrickson, Josh and Stacy Teddy, Paul Solomonson and Gale Langdon, and Gale Boggio.

Thank you to the Calumet JROTC program for allowing us to use the ballroom all weekend. It was so nice to have a space to relax and refuel and watch the games with a great view and warmth.

Thank you to all the volunteers who helped set up and clean up, worked the clock and iPad, managed the penalty box, maintained the rink, checked locker rooms, and took care of the hospitality room. Your time and effort made the weekend smooth and enjoyable.

A big thank you to Mr. Abe Voelker for announcing every game!!! You brought great energy to the rink, and we’re all grateful you spent your weekend supporting the team.

Thank you to the zamboni drivers for giving every game great ice. It’s rare to attend a tournament with no ice complaints, and that’s because of your hard work.

We appreciate the refs who worked the games this weekend. It’s never an easy job, especially with a lively age group, and you did a fantastic job keeping things safe and steady.

Thank you to our board for trusting us with this tournament on short notice. Your support and knowledge guided us through something completely new and we’re happy to have your expertise behind us.

Thank you to our MAHA rep for spending her weekend with us. I personally learned a lot over the weekend and was very thankful I didn't have to do the math to determine the 3-way tie going into the Championship Game.

Shoutout to Alex Voelker in the concession stand for keeping us all fed and full of hot chocolate throughout the weekend. We appreciate your time and the players greatly enjoyed the walking tacos!

And thank you again to our team and coach. You gave everything you had this weekend and all season. It was a joy to watch you grow, compete, and cheer each other on. Your hard work, dedication and joy of the game shines!

The team was defeated in the championship game this morning but what a ride. We are incredibly proud of all our players and sad the season has come to an end. Thank you to our hockey family for pulling the tournament together and helping to run it so smoothly. All the help and all the donations were so greatly appreciated.

It's official, Jim's Pizza - Midget Hockey Team is moving on to the championship game against Lansing at 10 am! The screams as the standings poster was updated were amazing! LET"S GO JIM"S!!!

Although we didn't get the win in today's game, it was still a great start to the hockey tournament weekend! Thank you to everyone who helped to set up, everyone running the show and the fans in the stands! It was wonderful seeing so many people supporting our team! Shoutout to Jim's Pizza Calumet for providing pizza for tonight's volunteers. They (and half the team) enjoyed it! We're back on the ice for at 8:20am start tomorrow. Hope to see you there, LET'S GO JIM'S!!!!

As we get closer to the weekend, we want to say thank you to everyone who has supported this team! It is such a great team to watch and be around, we're extremely proud of the hard work they've put in this season.

Everything is coming together for the 18U state tournament this weekend! We still need a few volunteers to help out during the games.

To sign up for a slot, go to the CHA website (https://www.calumethockey.org), then click on “Account” and then “Volunteer”. Click on "More Information" under 18U State Tournament. From there, you click on the green plus sign to the right of the shift you want to take and then select who will be volunteering.

Note: Anyone that doesn’t have an account through CHA can create one and then sign up for shifts.

The clock/ipad/penalty box responsibilities are pretty straight forward. Ice maintenance is just when the zamboni is out, locker room check is after each team leaves from the previous games and the hospitality room is someone to sit in the ballroom for that time period and make sure that it stays neat and orderly and that the snacks up there are replenished. No kids running around, etc.
