Rodney-Jordan Volunteer Fire Protection District’s Firefighter Appreciation & 40th Anniversary dinner was a success!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Tuesday’s event. It was a pleasure to celebrate our firefighters’ accomplishments, both past & present, and to be able to personally thank them for all they do.

A special thank-you to our volunteer firefighters, Auxiliary members, and Commission board for planning the event, putting the shine on the fire station, and helping throughout the event. Your hard work & teamwork made it a success!
A BIG thank you as well to John Haile for the awesome brisket & chicken.

At this event each fireman was recognized and given a certificate of appreciation. We recognized Jerry Klaus’ 40 years of service with a Last Call from 911 dispatch and a shadow box of mementos. Mary Edwards was recognized for bringing forth the idea for this event & her work starting the fire district 40 years ago. Chief John Forman was recognized with a quilt made by auxiliary board members.

We’re grateful for our community’s continued support and hope you’ll come to our future events (next potluck is Dec. 8). Neighbors helping neighbors!

The 2026 Rural Fire Show has been rescheduled for December 5, 2026. The event, which is normally held in early October, has been postponed to ensure rural and volunteer fire departments remain fully available during this period of increased wildfire activity across the state.

This free annual event recognizes Arkansas firefighters and their families for the vital service they provide. Attendees can take part in training sessions, equipment demonstrations, informational resources, networking opportunities, and visit more than 45 vendors. A catered lunch and door prizes will also be available.

September is National Firefighter Appreciation Month! Join us on September 22, 2026, as we celebrate our Rodney-Jordan volunteer firefighters and the 40th anniversary of our fire department.

Dinner will be provided—no dish needed. A program and meeting will follow dinner.

We'll also have an opportunity to share memories, experiences, and photos of our fire department. Please contact a Commission or Auxiliary member or reply here if you'd like to contribute.

The Quarterly Commissioner Meeting originally scheduled for September 12th has been rescheduled for Saturday, October 3rd at 10 AM. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
