To my incredible Frodo's Legacy Animal Rescue family and friends,
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for believing in me and in every animal we've been able to help over the years. None of this would have been possible without your support, encouragement, and compassion.
When I first started Frodo's Legacy, my mission was simple: save as many lives as I could. That mission hasn't changed—it has only grown.
Living in Mexico has opened my eyes to a much bigger picture. Every day I see abandoned street dogs fighting to survive, and an incredible natural world that needs people willing to protect it.
That's why I'm introducing Guardianes de Patas, Alas y Olas (GPAO)—which means Guardians of Paws, Wings, and Waves.
This new name represents everything that has become part of my heart:
Rescuing street dogs. Rehabilitating wildlife. Protecting our oceans and marine life and inspiring compassion through conservation and education.

Frodo's Legacy will always be where this journey began and will still remain just a call away thanks to my volunteers who care as much as I.
Frodo inspired a legacy of love, compassion, and second chances. GPAO is simply the next chapter of that legacy—a chapter that reaches beyond one rescue and embraces an entire ecosystem.
No matter the name, my purpose remains the same: to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves and to leave this world a little kinder than I found it.

This little guy was finally caught and needs a FOSTER ASAP! We can do a foster to adopt!

Meet Todd: Professional Wilderness Survivor, Amateur House Dog

Last Saturday while camping, we caught what appeared to be either:

A ) a stray dog

or

B ) a woodland cryptid disguised as a dog.

After extensive investigation, we’re fairly confident he’s a dog.

Since we never found an owner, all I know about Todd comes from observing him over the last few days. Here’s his resume:

Name: Todd (assigned by committee)
Age: Approximately 1-2 years old
Breed: Heeler/Terrier mix… probably. Maybe. Your guess is as good as ours with Google as a backup.
Weight: 30-40 pounds of pure muscle, anxiety, and enthusiasm.

Based on his condition, we believe Todd may have been surviving on his own for over a month. When first caught, he was operating entirely on survival instincts and caffeine that definitely wasn’t actually in his system.

The good news? Every day he remembers a little more that being a dog is way easier than being a wilderness survival expert.

Things Todd knows:

✅ Sit

✅ How to take treats gently

✅ How to identify the softest bed in a three-mile radius

✅ House training (zero accidents so far)

✅ That car rides are the greatest invention in human history

Things Todd is still working on:

⚠️ Remembering that every rustling leaf is not an immediate threat

⚠️ Understanding that he does not personally need to supervise every activity happening within a 500-foot radius

⚠️ Crate acceptance (he has severe FOMO and would like to speak to management)

Todd loves people. He loves attention. He loves laying next to you while you work. In fact, if you’re sending emails, Todd is happy to provide complimentary emotional support and snoring services.

He’s also a world-class kisser. Unfortunately, he has never learned the concept of “personal space” and believes all gratitude should be expressed directly onto your face. He also seems to believe that humans require direct and constant supervision - he’s likely not wrong.

Health-wise, he appears to be in pretty good shape considering his recent career as a forest-dwelling free agent. He has a few minor wounds that look like he may have lost an argument with another animal at some point, but otherwise seems healthy. He’s been bathed, treated for fleas and ticks, and is enjoying the luxury lifestyle of regular meals.

Todd is not neutered, which means he occasionally makes decisions that can only be described as “Todd-level judgment.” A future neuter appointment would likely improve both his decision-making skills and his dating prospects.

He has done well around my children (ages 8, 6, and 2), though interactions have been supervised because, frankly, Todd’s life story is currently one giant question mark.

At the end of the day, Todd is a really good dog who seems to have had a rough stretch. Underneath the survival mode is a goofy, affectionate sweetheart who wants a couch, some snacks, and a human who won’t leave him to fend for himself in the wilderness.

Couresty Post:
Gypsy, a 3-year-old Treeing Walker is looking for a new home due to circumstances beyond her control. She interacts well with older children, specifically teenagers, and adults. However, she has displayed dominance towards younger children. Despite this, Gypsy is extremely affectionate and enjoys spending time curled up on the couch. Although she has received some leash training, she would love to have someone work with her further. She is crate-trained but experiences anxiety when confined, likely due to previous mistreatment in a crate that was too small. Gypsy has coexisted with other dogs but per hound nature, sees cats as something fun to chase. Gypsy deserves a loving, permanent home that will give her the time and training she deserves!
*The owner has commented below. Please note that they are secondary owners as Gyspy showed up to them as a stray and upon finding original owners, it was necessary that she gets a better life.*

Happy New Year! Here's to a great 2026 with less lost pets, more adoptions and happiness to all involved! 🎉 A reminder that we do not just take in dogs and cats, we are an ALL animal rescue.
