Good Friday Devotion..A Mother’s Heart.♥️

As a mother, my heart is drawn to Mary today.

She stood there…watching helplessly as her Son was mocked, beaten, spat upon, and crucified. Her baby boy.

I can’t even begin to imagine that kind of pain. The kind that grips your soul and takes your breath away. I can only imagine she longed, with every fiber of her being, to take His place…but she couldn’t. What agony her heart must have carried in that moment.

It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

The strength Mary had to stand there.

And yet…my heart also turns to Jesus.

In the midst of unimaginable suffering, He looked down and saw His mother…the one who held Him, nurtured Him, loved Him from the very beginning…standing there in deep sorrow.

And even then…He thought of her.

“When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, ‘Woman, here is your son,’ and to the disciple, ‘Here is your mother.’ From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.”
~ John 19:26–27

What love…♥️
Even on the cross, in His pain, Jesus made sure His mother was cared for. He saw her. He knew her heartbreak. He understood her grief.

Jesus felt it all.
And because He did…He understands us.

He understands our sorrow, our pain, our helpless moments, and our broken hearts. There is nothing we face that He has not, in some way, felt Himself.

Good Friday reminds us of the depth of His love….a love so great that He endured it all of us.

I will forever be grateful for His sacrifice.

And today, I will always think of Mary.

Dear Jesus,
On this Good Friday, my heart is overwhelmed as I reflect on all You endured out of love for us. Thank You for Your sacrifice…for Your obedience…for Your unfailing love.

Lord, I think of Your mother, Mary, and the sorrow she carried as she stood at the cross. Thank You for her strength, her faith, and her example of unwavering love.

Jesus, thank You that even in Your suffering, You saw her…and You see us too. You know our pain. You understand our tears. You are near to the brokenhearted.

Let my life reflect my gratitude, my love, and my devotion to You. Amen…🙏🏻

Our trip to Ireland & Scotland (St. Andrews)

A dream lived…not just imagined. And even more special experiencing it side by side with Dave, my son Tanner, Brooklyn, her beautiful parents, and dear friends.

This truly was a trip of a lifetime…filled with breathtaking views, laughter that echoed a little longer (and still does), unforgettable moments, and even a few happy tears that came from a place so deep they’re hard to put into words.

There was something so deeply moving about it all…moments that felt sacred, where time seemed to stand still. You could feel the beauty, the peace, and the presence of something greater…moments meant to be held onto forever.

Sharing all of this together made it that much more meaningful. Memories I will treasure forever with the ones I love.

So incredibly grateful for each and every moment…and to God for allowing us to witness such beauty, and for the love and laughter shared between us all.

A piece of our hearts will always remain there. ♥️

To the people who make life meaningful…their love, their laughter, and their unwavering presence.

To the cherished memories we’ve created, and the bonds that have carried us through joy and sorrow.

I’ll raise a glass to the sacrifices made for love, to the dreams we share, and to the moments that remind us what truly matters.

A toast to the beauty of connection, to the unexpected gifts of life, and to the unspoken ways we hold each other close.

May 2026 bring peace to the world, wellness to our hearts, and a deeper awareness of the beauty around us.
And most of all…may it remind us of life’s fragility and the importance of showing those we love how deeply they are valued, respected, and honored.

From the very first moment, you wrapped my heart in a love I’d never known…
and ever since, you’ve filled my life with more pride, joy, and meaning than I could have ever imagined.
You are rare.
You are strong.
You are gentle and brave and wonderfully you…a gift I thank God for every single day.

I will always wish the brightest life for you.
I will always pray over your steps, believe in your dreams, and be that soft, safe place when the world feels heavy.

God blessed me and your Dad beyond measure when He placed you in our arms.
And in return, I give you the gifts that never wear out…my encouragement, my understanding, my belief in who you are,

You are my greatest blessing, my joy,

Tanner, no matter how old you get or how far your journey takes you, my love follows you…quietly, faithfully, endlessly.
You will forever be my son, my heart, my greatest gift.

Carry a Thankful Heart Through the Holidays…🙏🏻

The holidays can be beautiful…but also busy, emotional, and overwhelming. Scripture gently calls us back to gratitude, reminding us that peace and thankfulness go hand in hand. Here are three ways to nurture a thankful heart this season:

Be Thankful in Your Actions:

“Whatever you do…do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
~ Colossians 3:17

Gratitude isn’t just a feeling…it’s a way of living.
From how we speak, to how we drive, to how we treat the people around us, every action can be an offering of thankfulness to God. Decide each morning, “Today I will walk in gratitude.”

Be Thankful by Remembering:

“I will remember the deeds of the Lord.”
~ Psalm 77:11

Thankfulness grows when we pause and remember God’s faithfulness:
His comfort. His presence. His peace.
Read old notes in your Bible, recall answered prayers, and share stories of God’s goodness with family and friends.
Remembrance stirs gratitude.

Be Thankful in Everything:

“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
~ 1 Thessalonians 5:18

We can’t always choose our circumstances, but we can choose our posture.
Even in difficulty, gratitude roots us in trust…God is with us, God is working, and God is faithful.

Prayer:
Lord, help me enter this season with a thankful heart. Fill me with Your peace, guide my actions, and remind me of Your faithfulness. Give me eyes to see the worth in every person I encounter. Make my words gentle, my heart curious, and my presence a reflection of Your love. Let gratitude shape my days and Your peace rule my heart.

Happy Birthday, Mom…♥️🎂🌹
We love you, we miss you, and we feel you with us every single day. I’m certain your sweet voice is singing joyfully in heaven today. Thank you for leaving a permanent smile in my heart and in the hearts of everyone you so gracefully, humbly, and unconditionally loved and blessed.

In a poetic twist of fate, my Aunt Lorraine left this world on Mom’s birthday…a tender, heartbreaking reminder of the unbreakable bond they shared, one that continues far beyond this life. She was a precious gift when she entered this world, and she became a precious gift again when she left it for her heavenly home to join her Mom, Dad & brothers.

Like Mom, Lorraine embodied pure, unconditional love. Her heart was the center of our family. She saw beauty in everyone and treated each person with a kindness and grace that made you feel seen, accepted, and cherished. One of her greatest joys was being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her eyes would light up at the sound of their names, and her love only grew with every new little blessing added to the family.

Today, we honor them both…two extraordinary women whose love shaped us, strengthened us, and continues to surround us from heaven.
Happy Birthday, Mom…and Lorraine, we miss you deeply.
