Pathways for Inclusion: A DeLuca Family Initiative

As we wrap up our first Monroe’s Memorial Poker Run, we have one more very important THANK YOU to share.

Together, we raised nearly $6,000 to support the Monroe’s Mission Scholarship Fund and Pathways for Inclusion initiatives — carrying Monroe’s legacy forward by creating opportunities, connection, and belonging for children and families in our community.

And what a day it was.

The food was delicious.
Monroe’s Memorial Mile was incredibly meaningful.
The ride was seamless.
The entertainment was fantastic.
But the fellowship — the people who showed up, stayed, laughed, hugged us, rode for our girl, and supported this mission — may have been the very best part.

There are so many people who helped make this day possible, including Brightside Tavern, Cristy and Tim Satterfield, Bones Skinner, Derrick Kelley, John Vermillion, every one of our generous sponsors, our volunteers, riders, donors, and countless others who stepped in wherever they were needed.

From the peach ribbons lining Monroe’s Mile to the motorcycles carrying her memory down the road, there were reminders of our Peachy Girl everywhere.

Thank you for helping us create a day that was not only successful, but deeply meaningful to our family.

And this was only the beginning. 🧡

Monroe’s Memorial Poker Run will ride again next summer! We hope you’ll keep us in mind and gather with us to do it all over again. Our 2027 date will be announced in late winter.

Until then, thank you for riding.
Thank you for giving.
Thank you for remembering.
And most of all, thank you for helping us continue to say her name and carry her love forward.

Our free Birth–3 playgroup in partnership with Early Intervention is heading OUTSIDE this month! Join us at the Harrison County Board of DD Playground for an evening of play, connection and fun!

🎨 Masterpiece Makers | September 24 • 5:30–6:30 PM
Our free adaptive art class is back! We meet every artist exactly where they are and make creativity accessible for everyone.

And throughout the month, Hometown Pediatric continues offering Speech & Feeding Therapy appointments at Pathways on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3–5 PM.

💙 Pathways is pleased to present several FREE monthly inclusive programs for our community. Our goal is simple: create more opportunities right here at home where individuals of all abilities and their families can participate, connect and BELONG.

Today was about how Monroe lived—and what continues because she was here. It is a privilege to continue to introduce her to people through moments like today…..

And what a beautiful day it was.

This morning, we looked out at a sea of motorcycles, peach ribbons pinned to vests, Monroe’s Miracle Bands on wrists, and so many people who simply chose to show up for our girl.

Then they carried her with them for 90 miles.

And when they came home, they rode the final stretch through Monroe’s Memorial Mile—past her beautiful face, her name, peach ribbons blowing in the wind, and reminders of a little girl who lived only eight years but left behind more love than we could ever measure.

There was something incredibly powerful about watching motorcycle after motorcycle travel that final mile.

Because Monroe was here.

She was deeply loved.
Her life mattered.
And her story did not end when we lost her.

Today, you helped us turn our love for Monroe into something that continues to matter for other children and families through Pathways for Inclusion and the Monroe’s Mission Scholarship.

To every rider who put a little peach on their vest and carried our girl down those roads…

To every volunteer, sponsor, donor and person who worked behind the scenes…

To everyone who bought a shirt, dinner, raffle ticket or 50/50…

To those who stood along Monroe’s Mile and welcomed our riders home…

And to every single person who simply showed up—

thank you.

Today was everything we hoped the first Monroe’s Memorial Poker Run could be: remembrance, community, purpose, laughter, love and a whole lot of peach.

Our girl is forever eight.
Forever our Peachy Girl.
Forever loved.

And after watching all of you today, there is one thing we know for certain:

Her legacy rides on.

🧡 COOKING FOR A CAUSE — Supporting Pathways for Inclusion!

This one is close to my heart.

Pathways for Inclusion was born from our own family’s journey — from raising Jackson in a rural community and knowing firsthand what it feels like to search for resources, opportunities, therapies, friendships, and places where your child is not just welcomed, but truly belongs.

We knew families like ours deserved more. So we decided to start building it.

Today, our Family Resource Center is becoming the kind of place I once wished existed for us — a place where children and families can access therapy, build friendships, participate in inclusive programs, connect with other families, and simply be themselves.

And now, you can help us keep building.

This Pampered Chef fundraiser will help us purchase additional items for our sensory room — a space Jackson absolutely LOVES and one that means so much to so many of the individuals we serve. It’s a place to regulate, decompress, explore, and feel safe when the world becomes a little too much.
