It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our dedicated Kiwanis family member, Mr. Tom Talluto, Tom was an active member for many years and responsible for several new members during that time and the main administrator for this page. He will be missed by all. We extend our sincere condolences to the Talluto family.

Remember last February 8 I posted the loss of a very dear friend and a dedicated member of our Cadillac Kiwanis family. At our meeting of May 19 Carl's nephew, John Lamphere, came to our meeting and gifted us with a very generous cash donation from Carl's estate. We all knew he was going to put a provision in his will for us, but this amount was unexpected. Not sure how all the others felt but I was speechless. Even in death Carl is taking care of the club he loved. From every member of the Kiwanis Club of Cadillac we say thank you for your on going generosity and we truely miss you my friend.

In keeping with the mission of the Kiwanis Club of Cadillac, this Christmas the club once again adopted a family with the help of the Salvation Army. With the help of Lt. Liz Bock, a family of four was chosen to brighten up an otherwise dismal Christmas. A single mother and three children will now have a very merry Christmas. The family was gifted with some necessary winter apparel plus some toys for the children. Lt, Bock presented the gifts to the family. The presents that were purchased were brought to the annual Kiwanis Christmas party and the members and their significant others wrapped the gifts and loaded them in Lt. Bock’s vehicle. The club also presented the Salvation Army with a gift of $2000.00 towards their red kettle program. The Kiwanis Club of Cadillac is honored to continue serving the Cadillac and Wexford County communities since 1936.

Here is a photo of our clubs contributions to another our community partner. Here we see our club President Nancy Foster presenting a check for $1,000.00 to Karen McMahon, Director for the Cadillac Schools bagpack program, with the Kiwanis volunteers looking on. The bagpack program purchases and distribute non perishable nutritional food to deserving children.

In keeping with our mission of helping the children of our community, our club donated $1,000.00 to the Cadillac/Wexford Public Library to be applied towards establishing a designated seating area for the older children of this area. Pictured here is Kiwanis member John Poter presenting a check for $1,000.00 to Karen Rickard to be applied towards the project.
