GREAT GET-TOGETHER TODAY!!! Our guest speaker was Michael Byrd, Cabot Public Schools Superintendent. He had big shoes to fill when Tony Thurman stepped down, but Mr. Byrd has done a superb job & our school district continues to be the best in the nation. Mr. Byrd spoke about the outstanding programs, facilities & student population. Looking forward to continuing growth & success for our educational community. Great presentation!!!!

Cabot Lions Club is proud to announce that they have recently awarded two $1500 scholarships. The 2025 “Rick Meadows Memorial Scholarship” recipients are Kaitlyn Spencer and Paxton Crum.

Kaitlyn Spencer is a recent graduate of Cabot High School and has a passion for serving others. Among her many accomplishments, she served as FFA President and has completed over 650 hours of community service. Kaitlyn will be attending Arkansas Tech University while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in agriculture with goals of becoming an agriculture educator.

Paxton Crum is also a recent graduate of Cabot High School. She excelled in ROTC for 4 years and served as Vice Group Commander during her senior year. Paxton will be attending the University of Central Arkansas while pursuing a bachelor’s degree in speech communication disorders on the way to becoming a Speech Pathologist.

This scholarship award is named in memory of Lion Rick Meadows. Prior to his passing in 2014, he was a very active member of the Cabot Lions Club. He truly represented our Lions Club motto “We Serve” and was passionate about supporting Cabot students, in all facets of education. It is with tremendous pride that we award Kaitlyn and Paxton with scholarships, as we know that they will undoubtedly achieve much success.
