Kathy, who died in late 2025, was the daughter of Pat Roche's. Her grandchildren were students of Murphy Roche.

Danny McKendry, a fiddle player, lives in the village of Eaglesham south of Glasgow in Scotland. Danny first learned his fiddle airs from his father, Danny, who had Antrim and Donegal roots. A member of the St James the Great Comhaltas Branch in Pollok for over 30 years, Danny enjoys attending fleadhanna with his musical family of Roslynn, Séamus and Brigid Rose as well as enjoying summers in Donegal, where his mother was from. https://youtu.be/Fz4aV_utKnY

New Workshop with Orla O'Connor -- newly minted All Ireland Senior Fiddle Champion on Sunday, 1/25 at noon CT/1 pm ET.

0:00–0:10 Welcome/introductions + framing: what slides are (tune type), workshop flow & goals (intermediate pace)
0:10–0:25 Slide rhythm & mechanics: 12/8 pulse, rhythmic hierarchy, bow distribution, common pitfalls
0:25–0:50 Slide Tune #1 (deep dive): phrasing, groove, bow economy, tempo control
0:50–1:05 Slide Tune #2 (contrast): interpretation choices, alternate bow strategies, maintaining dance feel
1:05–1:15 Break
1:15–1:30 Slides → Polkas: how the feel shifts, set logic, bow articulation changes (quick transition exercise)
1:30–1:45 Polka Tune: drive, lift at phrase ends, clarity at speed
1:45–1:55 Reels (general): pulse/phrasing and bow efficiency—how slide/polka work strengthens reels (short phrases)
