One year ago today, our hearts were broken in a way that words will never fully capture. Liam left this world far too soon, and not a single day has passed without him being deeply missed.

And yet, even in the grief, Liam’s light remains. It lives on in the love he gave, the joy he brought, the memories that still make us smile through tears, and the legacy that continues in his name.

As we mark one year since Liam’s passing, we are holding space for both sorrow and love; for the pain of missing him here with us, and for the deep gratitude that we got to know and love him.

On Monday, March 16, what would have been Liam’s 3rd birthday, we invite you to honor and celebrate him with a muffin in his memory. Chocolate chip was his favorite, but any muffin shared in love feels just right. In a small, simple way, we hope it brings a moment to pause, remember Liam, and hold him close.

If you join us, we would truly love to see it. Please share your muffin photos and tag the William K. Janshego Legacy Foundation so we can remember and celebrate alongside you.

And because muffins and coffee are even better together, we also invite you to support Liam’s legacy through our partnership with Every purchase helps us continue the work of honoring his life and carrying his light forward.

Thank you for loving Liam, remembering him, and continuing to speak his name.

Always loved. Always missed. Always with us. 🤍

🎗Today is International Childhood Cancer Day🎗

It's overwhelming to think a year ago we didn't know this day existed and were in the middle of Liam's fight. You aren't a cancer parent until those horrid words are spoken out loud, "your child has a mass in his brain." Suddenly a new community formed around us, one we didn't ask to be a part of, but the incredible support and rally from all angles was instrumental to simply surviving.

Today we show grace and kindness to all families currently in the fight, holding steady in remission, and those holding their angels close.

Reach out to someone in the fight, check on them, it'll mean the world! Let's honor all of these kids and their support systems ❤️ 🎗

As we continue in this season of gratitude, we’re especially thankful to the Cozzi-Carso family, who organized the Nikki Cozzi-Carso Scholarship Fund Annual 5K (and canicross) and invited us to be part of the event, making it our first on-site appearance as a foundation.🎗️

On November 15, Sarah (Liam’s mom) and John (his uncle) represented the William K. Janshego Legacy Foundation, serving our Liam’s Legacy coffee blend in partnership with Burlington Coffee Co., sharing Liam’s story, and connecting with the community. It was a beautiful 60-degree November day, and we’re so grateful for the support shown for Liam’s legacy and our mission.

🍁🧡 This Thanksgiving, we hold a special seat at our table for Liam 🐦and space in our hearts for all of the families facing similar loss or are in the middle of their battles with their warriors.🎗️

And while the heartache of his absence will never leave, we know he continues to shine his light in the lives of those he made an impact on...and for that reason we fight strong to carry his legacy.

🧡 To every family, donor, volunteer, and community member who stands with us in the fight against pediatric brain cancer, thank you. Your support gives children and families strength on the hardest days and hope on the brightest ones.

🧡 To the extraordinary nurses who show up with compassion, tenderness, and unwavering dedication; your care brings comfort that words can’t describe in the darkest times.

🧡 To the brilliant researchers pushing toward new treatments and a future free from brain cancer. We are endlessly grateful for your persistence, your innovation, and belief that a cure is possible, even for the toughest of cancers. 🎗️

Today and every day, we hold close the courage of the children we serve and the hope that fuels our mission. Together, we move toward breakthroughs. Together, we bring light to families facing the unimaginable. Together, we believe in a future where every child not only fights, but thrives.

Wishing you a warm, peaceful, and hopeful Thanksgiving full of love and grace. 🧡🍁

Every foundation starts with a story. Liam is ours. 💛

The William K. Janshego Legacy Foundation for Pediatric Brain Cancer Research was created to honor the life and legacy of William (Liam) K. Janshego, a joyful, blue-eyed boy who brought light and laughter to everyone around him. In January 2025, Liam was diagnosed with Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumor (ATRT), a rare and aggressive pediatric brain cancer. Though his journey was challenging, Liam’s strength, love, and spirit inspire us to fight for a future where no family faces this battle alone.

Our foundation is dedicated to funding groundbreaking research, advancing treatments, and supporting families navigating this difficult journey. On this page, we’ll share Liam’s legacy, updates on our ATRT-focused work, and the ways you can help us bring light, hope, and unwavering support to children and families affected by pediatric brain cancer.

Thank you for being here and for being part of Liam’s legacy. 💛
