Be part of the conversation shaping Burlington's future — sign up today to stay in the loop on what's happening, as it happens.

Burlington doesn't change on its own—people make it happen. And that takes collective action. Your public support amplifies the organizing, advocacy, and policy work that can turn bold ideas into real change.

To better serve the people who live in Burlington now and in the future, we have to invest in our education infrastructure. We're glad to see the new Burlington High School campus open for the new school year!

The new school year marks the end of a difficult chapter for the district, but the specter of potential PCB contamination still looms for many Vermont schools.

Affordable. Safe. Vibrant. That's the Burlington we're working toward — and we believe smart policy + real community action is how we get there. 💪

The future of the New North End is being planned right now.

Burlington’s planBTV New North End process is looking at how this part of the city can evolve in the years ahead, including opportunities to expand housing choice and affordability. A revised draft is part of the ongoing planning process.

These decisions matter. If Burlington is serious about creating the thousands of new homes we need, we have to look thoughtfully at opportunities across the city while listening to the people who already call these neighborhoods home.

Take a look and follow the process:

This is a neighborhood plan that will establish a long-term vision for Burlington’s New North End. The Plan will guide future growth and infrastructure investments to create a vibrant, welcoming, accessible, and sustainable collection of distinct districts and neighborhoods.

One of the biggest challenges in addiction recovery is what happens after detox.

A new step-down recovery facility in Vergennes is helping fill the gap between intensive treatment and sober living, an important piece of the recovery continuum that Vermont has too little of.

This is an important part of Burlington’s public safety conversation, too. We need real pathways from addiction and crisis into treatment, recovery, housing, and long-term stability.

Enforcement alone cannot create recovery. If we want better outcomes on our streets and for the people struggling on them, Vermont needs enough treatment and recovery capacity to make another path possible.

A step-down rehab facility that opened in Vergennes earlier this year offers what advocates call the missing middle between detox and sober living. WCAX News got an exclusive look inside.
