Today, we remember the fallen service members who never made it home, the families who carry that loss forever, and the legacy of sacrifice that continues to shape this country.

From one uniformed profession to another, we honor them today. 🇺🇸

May 15 — Peace Officers Memorial Day 🇺🇸💙

The Vermont Fraternal Order of Police asks all Vermonters to join us today in remembering the peace officers who died serving our communities. 🕊️

If you see the flag at half-staff, take a moment. 🇺🇸 If you pass a cruiser, say a prayer. 🙏
If you know a family who lost an officer, reach out.

We remember all Vermont officers who have died in the line of duty since 1814, and every officer across this nation who never made it home. 👮‍♂️👮‍♀️

Their sacrifice protects us all. 🖤💙🖤

An outstanding job by our Burlington Police Officers' Association- FOP Lodge 21 members to get an armed and dangerous offender off the streets and in jail for a long time. This is another example of Vermont’s reliance on the federal justice system to hold offenders accountable because the state courts are unable and unwilling to.

Attached is a statement from the Vermont FOP state lodge regarding changes made to S. 208, recent legislation dealing with law enforcement's use of facial coverings. VTFOP, testified at length about this bill in the statehouse while it was being considered in its prior form which posed many issues to our members.

Info about S. 208 can be found here: https://legislature.vermont.gov/bill/status/2026/S.208

VTFOP was in California last week for the spring Presidents and Trustees Board Meetings. These meetings allow our VT representatives to have input into National decisions made for FOP members and help determine agendas for the upcoming months and years. President Joe Corrow and Trustee Jimmy Baldea both gave presentations and updates on VTFOP to everyone present. These meetings also help us make connections with other FOP leaders to collectively collaborate on issues our members face.

🚨 Vermont FOP Family – We Need You 🚨

Franklin County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeff Barriger was injured in the line of duty this week. While he’s focused on healing, his family is facing mounting medical bills and time away from work.

The Vermont Fraternal Order of Police is asking our brothers, sisters, and community members to step up for one of our own. A GoFundMe has been set up to help cover expenses during his recovery.

💙 When one of us hurts, we all feel it. That’s what being part of the police family means.
Please consider donating and sharing. Every dollar helps. Every share reaches someone.

All of us at Vermont FOP send our heartfelt thoughts and prayers to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Deputy who was injured yesterday.

We ask that the community pour out their support for this Deputy and their Department during this time.

Regardless of FOP membership status, we have extended our assistance to this deputy and their department. We are all one big law enforcement family and we’re better together.
