We are a 501(c) (3) organization for leisure, recreation, employment training and housing all of which are community based for teens and adults. "Yard" Work & More is a 501 (c) (3) organization providing recreation, leisure, employment training and housing to teens and young adults who have developmental and other disabilities. Leisure and recreation encompasses both small intimate and 1:1 setting
s and community based opportunities which focus on long term relationships and integration within our local communities. Employment is based upon individual interest and becoming as self sufficient as possible. Initially we did yard work, pet walking/sitting, light housekeeping, yard work, errands as well as hand made items. We work together jointly to create and/or assemble favors for birthdays, weddings & special events. We provide a variety of services such as mailings, conference folders, invitations, and event bags. We create favors for corporations & non-profits for their donors, employees or fundraisers. We strive to give back to the community through such projects as collecting school supplies & stuffing back packs for children in need, collect food and clothing, animal shelter supplies, adopt a class which aids in providing support to local schools and collect a variety of items for local organizations such as Box Tops, Coke rewards, keys and Campbell Soup labels. We run a local community garden that is fully accessible that members tend to each spring thru autumn. Portions of our garden go to those locally in need. We create community based recreational opportunities that do not already exist locally. We meet bi-weekly, for a pot luck style lunch/dinner, crafting and socialization. Spring through fall we meet for small weekly inclusive recreation, raise money for community based classes and plan weekend trips throughout the year. We now have space for employment training and an art center.
