We address the needs of those affected by domestic violence in Chittenden County, Vermont. Our mission is to assist in the transition to a safe, independent life for all those who have been affected physically, sexually, emotionally, or economically by domestic abuse and to promote a culture that fosters justice, equity and safety.

Steps is hiring! Apply to join a team dedicated to supporting survivors of IPV today!

The Community and Volunteer Engagement Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Community Engagement team in the provision of educational and public awareness programs and trainings/workshops in the community, and youth-focused work designed to increase understanding of and sensitivity to domestic and dating violence. The Coordinator is additionally responsible for the recruitment, training and retention of volunteers and also assists the development team with fundraising and event planning.

This full-time (40hrs/wk) position pays between $23-$25/hr based on experience, with annual raises for COLA and tenure, and is eligible for a generous benefits package, which includes health, dental, vision and life insurance, 403b plan, and combined time off starting at 24 paid days off, 9 paid holidays in 2026.

Steps is hiring! Apply to join a team dedicated to supporting survivors of IPV today!

Facilities Manager: The Facilities Manager is responsible for the general oversight, management, and day-to-day operations of the shelter building both internally and externally. This full-time position (40 hour per week) is paid between $56,500 and $65,300 based on experience, and is eligible for a generous benefits package.

Housing Advocate: The Housing Advocate provides service user-centered advocacy related to obtaining and maintaining independent housing to survivors of domestic abuse, including all households enrolled in our emergency housing, rapid rehousing, and transitional housing programs. This full-time position starts at $23.00 per hour and is eligible for a generous benefits package
