Last week, the Burlington FFA chapter officer team participated in Chapter Officer Leadership Training in Enid! 💜

Our officers strengthened their teamwork and leadership skills while learning valuable lessons from the Oklahoma FFA officer team. During the event, Burlington FFA was also recognized as a Three-Star Superior Chapter!

The Burlington FFA Opening & Closing Ceremonies teams competed at the Fairview Contest yesterday evening and brought home a 2nd place banner! 🥈

Additionally, congratulations to Kennedy Jantz for placing in the Top 10 on the Greenhand Quiz!

We are so proud of these members and all the hard work they have put in to prepare for these contests. Great job, Burlington FFA! 💜

The Animal Science class recently wrapped up their unit on Animal Genetics and Expected Progeny Differences (EPDs) with a hands-on final project!

Each student created an EPD sheet for a bull and then put their knowledge to the test by analyzing their classmates’ EPDs to select the bull that best fit a specific scenario for their “cattle operation.” Students had to consider the strengths and weaknesses of each bull and make decisions based on the needs of their operation.

To finish the project, we hosted our very own classroom bull sale, with Owen Bellamy serving as our auctioneer! Students had the opportunity to put their EPD knowledge, decision-making skills, and cattle industry knowledge into practice in a fun and realistic setting.

Our Burlington FFA livestock judging team put their skills to work at the Alfalfa County Livestock Judging Contest! These members evaluated livestock, sharpened their decision-making skills, and gained valuable experience that will continue to prepare them for success in the livestock industry.

Burlington FFA members recently completed our annual Service with a Splash event, an opportunity dedicated to giving back and helping beautify the community of Burlington.

Members completed five service projects throughout town, putting the FFA motto, “Living to Serve,” into action. After an afternoon of hard work, the group wrapped up the day by taking a well-deserved “splash” and enjoying time of fellowship together!

We are proud of these members for giving their time, energy, and talents to make Burlington a better place!

Today was a proud moment for Burlington FFA as we had the opportunity to witness Governor Stitt sign SB 2159 into law.

This moment represents the power of student advocacy and the importance of giving agricultural education students a voice in the legislative process.

A special thank you to Senator Pederson and Representative Travis for their leadership and for working alongside our students to help make this legislation a reality. We are grateful for the opportunity to see firsthand how the work of our students can make a lasting impact on agriculture and our state.🌾💙💛

🎉 Congratulations, Burlington FFA! 🎉
We are incredibly proud to announce that the Burlington FFA Chapter has been selected as a 3-Star FFA Chapter! ⭐️
Out of 9,591 FFA chapters across the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands, only approximately 4% of chapters earned this prestigious ranking.
This recognition is a reflection of the hard work, dedication, leadership, and commitment of our FFA members, officers and supporters throughout the year. Earning 3-Star status is an incredible accomplishment and demonstrates the continued excellence of the Burlington FFA Chapter.
We are so proud of everything our members have accomplished and are excited to continue building on this success! 💙💛

⭐️This weekend, our Chapter Officers headed to Grand Lake for Officer Retreat, where they strengthened their teamwork, built leadership skills, and mapped out an exciting year of FFA activities for our chapter.⭐️

From team-building challenges to big-picture planning, these officers put in the work to ensure this year is one to remember. We can’t wait to see their ideas come to life and all that’s in store for Burlington FFA! 🌾🌅
