The Johnson County Hunger Coalition is working to provide essential hygiene supplies to the nonprofit organizations we support throughout Johnson County. Many individuals and families in our communities are facing difficult circumstances and need access to basic personal care items.

We are collecting new and unopened hygiene items, including:

🧼 Body Wash & Bar Soap
🪥 Toothbrushes & Toothpaste
🧵 Dental Floss
🧴 Deodorant
🧻 Sani wipes & personal care items

Many individuals and families in our community are currently in need of basic hygiene essentials. These items are distributed through local organizations to support dignity, health, and everyday well-being.

We are currently in need of:
🧴 Shampoo & conditioner
🧼 Body wash & soap
🪥 Toothpaste & toothbrushes
🧴 Deodorant
🧻 Feminine hygiene products
🧴 Toiletries (lotions, razors, wipes, etc.)

🌱 Volunteer & Grow With Us — Keene Open Air Community Garden 🌱

We are currently looking for volunteers and donations of gardening supplies to support the Keene Open Air Community Garden. This space is helping grow fresh produce, teach gardening skills, and support families with healthier food access.

We are in need of:
🌿 Gardening tools (shovels, gloves, rakes)
💧 Watering cans & hoses
🌱 Seeds, soil, and compost materials
🪴 Raised bed materials and plant starters

Volunteers are also needed for planting, maintenance, watering schedules, and community workdays.

This garden is about more than plants—it’s about teaching self-sufficiency, building skills, and creating a space where the community can grow together.

Every year in the United States, millions of pounds of usable food, clothing, hygiene items, and household goods are thrown away due to overstock, expiration labeling, cosmetic standards, or retail surplus.

At the same time, many families in Johnson County struggle to access these same essential items.

Johnson County Hunger Coalition works with 28 nonprofit partners to help redirect usable resources away from landfills and into the hands of families who need them most.
