About the Festival & the Film
The Inaugural Whittier Film Festival is a brand-new celebration of independent cinema, bringing powerful stories and diverse voices to the heart of Whittier. This year, we’re proud to present our documentary Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans: The José Ramos Story — a moving portrait of one man’s mission to honor Vietnam veterans who never received the homecoming they deserved. Through personal interviews, archival footage, and heartfelt community moments, the film captures both the struggles and the triumphs of a generation of heroes.

This Saturday, join us at Whittier Village Cinemas to experience this inspiring story on the big screen — and be part of a community coming together to say, at long last, “Welcome home.”
