This is what it’s all about. 🦃🤝
As many of you know, the WV Youth Turkey Bash is a 501(c)(3), and every dollar raised at the event goes directly back to supporting our local Veterans, Police officers, Firefighters, and First Responders.
First and foremost, Craig Lord won the two man Merriam turkey hunt in Colorado. Immediately after winning, he called and said he wanted to donate the trip to a “deserving police officer”. (You’re the man, Craig) -After a quick conversation with Berkeley County Sheriff Rob Blair, it was decided that Jason Wolfe was more than deserving given the year his family has had and This spring, he’ll be headed to Colorado to clear his mind and chase Merriams and fish some of the best trout streams in the country.
Clay Elwanger, a former West Virginia State Police Veteran, A Mountaineer to his core, and an avid outdoorsman - was selected for a South Carolina Gobbler and Boar hunt where he’ll be heavy in the action.
Daniel Shaffer, Ryan Lockhart, Tyler Greenstreet, and Matt Ramsey from the 167th Airlift Wing — along with Gene Greek III and Ben Mylnick from the FWAATS unit both based out of West Virginia, will be heading to the duck capital of the country, Arkansas, for an all exclusive Duck hunt in February of 2027.
None of this happens without the support of the people who show up, donate, sponsor, volunteer, and believe in what this event stands for. We can’t thank you enough.
PS- Every person listed above will likely think they were undeserving of a hunt. Please help me show our love and support to them.
