Join us for a meal kit packing event at Buffalo Presbyterian Church this Friday, June 19 from 9-11AM!
Everyone is welcome!
This is a great opportunity to experience fellowship with your neighbors while helping others in our community!
It is also an opportunity for students to gain volunteer hours, as we are a 501(c)3 organization.
Canโ€™t make it? We are in NEED of donations of ingredients for this event!
Currently we are in need of:

44 shelf-stable packages of pepperoni
34 jars of pizza sauce
65 small jars of Italian seasoning
34 small shelf-stable jars of grated Parmesan cheese
28 jars of Alfredo sauce
36 cans of peas
36 boxes of farfalle (bow tie) pasta
42 12-oz cans of chunk chicken breast

Please let us know if you plan to attend or can donate ingredients so we can plan for it.

Hello Buffalo Neighbors!! It is officially summer vacation for our students. So much excitement for the kids!! But what this brings is pressure on those families. According to No Kids Hungry organization:
* 87% of kids on free/reduced lunch lose those meals over summer
and
* Rural low-income families spend $168 more/month on groceries in summer, and 74% run out of food before their next paycheck.

What this means is Neighbors Feeding Neighbors is more important than ever.

Please spread the word to others about our organization!

Both to families in need and families wanting to help those in need!

We together can help bridge this gap for our neighbors.

Consider donating today!

We are grateful for our community's support of the Neighbors Feeding Neighbors meal kit project. Because of you, we recently reached 900 meal kits provided, which translates to 3,600 equivalent meal servings for our neighbors!
We know that many families face a cascade of daily stressors. While a meal kit provides nourishment, it also provides mental relief. By taking the guesswork, time, and financial pressure out of dinner, these kits give a family the space to breathe, connect, and rest for an evening.

The federal government continues to dismantle social safety nets, directly impacting food accessibility. Nationwide, participation in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) fell by more than 3 million people in the six months leading into 2026.
In Wright County, the data highlights a growing need for food accessibility:
โ€ข Participation: Approximately 4.5% to 5.5% of residents currently receive SNAP benefits.
โ€ข The Accessibility Gap: Roughly 20% of those who qualify for SNAP do not receive it, often due to complex applications or a lack of awareness.
โ€ข Food Insecurity: Minnesotaโ€™s food insecurity rate remains between 7% and 11%. Even with federal aid, many households above the income limit struggle to afford consistent, healthy meals.

Neighbors Feeding Neighbors believes a community-led approach is essential as federal safety nets are pulled away. We are currently providing over 300 meal kits per monthโ€”the equivalent of 1,200 servings.

Thanks to the generosity of our community and local ingredient donations, the average cost per meal kit is about $6.60.
How you can help:
โ€ข Host an Event: Please reach out if your church or group is interested in hosting a food drive or a meal-kit-making event.
โ€ข Donate: Financial contributions are greatly appreciated; 100% of your donation goes directly toward purchasing meal kit ingredients.

Together, we can help improve food accessibility in our community.
