We are so glad that Kim has been recognized for all her hard work at the Hope & Joy Food Pantry. She works tirelessly to ensure our clients receive the best quality food and a smooth client experience. She is the heart of our organization and we could not be prouder! Great job today from our LDS volunteers!! Looking good for inspection 🧐🥰. Our annual inspection from Feedmore WNY is next week and our volunteers are happy to make sure our pantry looks its best 🤩.

This week we are featuring the Boston Pickling Cucumber from our community garden! “An old heirloom dating back to 1880. Vigorous vines give large yields of smooth green fruit. It is excellent for pickles; very crisp and good quality. A very popular variety at the turn of the 20th century.” They are also great for hydration, and full of Vitamin K and Potassium. They can grow about 12 in tall on a trellis, which is where ours currently are!

This week, we are featuring the Orange Accordion Tomato from our community garden! “This highly ruffled, massive tomato in high-voltage orange color is packed with nutrition and sweet, fruity flavor. This head-turning tomato is a must-have for market gardeners and home growers alike. Its deeply lobed fruit has few seeds and juicy, meaty flesh, making it suitable for sauces and slicing. The fruit can easily reach 20 ounces each, and it makes a perfect stuffing tomato, too!” These tomatoes are full of Vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants. They will turn bright orange in the next couple weeks! Stay tuned for more veggie updates from our garden!
