A group of Buffalo-based professionals have joined together to form the Nickel City Professionals, an organization dedicated to raising awareness and donations for the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library system. The Nickel City Professionals plan to host fundraising events and activities together with the Buffalo & Erie County Public Libraries, in an effort to provide the library’s 37 branches wi

th funds for the various children’s and adult programs they provide to more than 17,000 Erie County residents who pass through their doors each day.

General information

The Nickel City Professionals is currently composed of 13 Buffalo-based volunteers, representing a diverse range of professional backgrounds. Prior to founding the Nickel City Professionals, the group was responsible for last year’s What’s Black and White and Read All Over Library fundraiser, which raised nearly $50,000 for the 37 Buffalo & Erie County Public Libraries. The success of last year’s event inspired the group to formalize themselves as a dedicated team that supports the Library System.
