Saranac Central Block Association (SCBA) was founded in 1997 by residents of the block of Saranac Avenue centrally located between Hertel and Tacoma Avenues within the Delaware District of the City of Buffalo (North Buffalo). The residents of this traditional block club are both homeowners and renters who have organized to improve the quality of life in their neighborhoods. SCBA is concerned and c
ares about their community and shares information, identifies concerns and acts collectively to address those concerns. The goals of SCBA are to improve living conditions for all neighbors within our block and the community in general. To establish common goals and improve or maintain the environment of the neighborhood.
2. To promote community safety and serve as a personalized Neighborhood Watch Group
3. To eliminate nuisances or unwholesome influences in the neighborhood and bring about more unity and togetherness.
4. To cooperate with various city departments and other agencies in improving the health, safety, physical, economic, and cultural standards of residents.
5. To develop a spirit of cooperation among the residents. Currently SCBA has a president along with a general board who oversee the distribution of news, block alerts, neighborhood disputes/concerns, events/dues, and community relations between residents and the elected officials within the City of Buffalo. SCBA is highly active within the North Buffalo Community and shares information with various other community organizations and block associations throughout the City of Buffalo, but especially within the Delaware District.
