Heart of Buffalo Catholic Community congratulates Davion Becker for being recognized for his outstanding contributions in the area of Equity and Justice. Davion is the son of Kevin and Theresa Becker of St. Martin de Porres parish. He will be graduating this year from St. Joseph Collegiate Academy. We cannot wait to see what your future will hold!

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. would like to congratulate Brother Father Robert P. Boxie III on being appointed to the position of Auxiliary Bishop of Washington, DC. He is the first Brother to attain this position within the Catholic Diocese. He serves as the Catholic chaplain at Howard University in Washington, D.C. and is in residence at Immaculate Conception Parish. Brother Boxie was initiated into the Kappa Theta Chapter at Vanderbilt University in the Spring of 2000 and is currently a member of Mu Lambda Chapter in Washington, DC.

A shrine to Ven. Augustus Tolton—America's first openly Black Catholic priest—will rise at St. Boniface Church in Quincy, Illinois.

Fr. Ronald Sajdak, Sir Knight and Chaplain of KOPC Council #94 and the Pierre Toussaint Assembly #54, along with his traveling companion, Fr. Japheth Tibui, made a pilgrimage to Quincey, IL where Fr. Sajdak , while representing the Diocese of Buffalo and the Brotherhood of the Knights of Peter Claver, offered prayers at the grave of the Venerable Fr. Augustus Tolton, the first African American to be ordained a Catholic Priest in the United States. Both Fr. Ron and Fr. Japheth also celebrated mass on Sunday, April 19th, there at the Church of St. Peter, where Fr. Tolton ministered.
