In Loving Memory of Joshua Alan
8th September 2004 – 15th January 2017
Joshua was a bright, kind, and gentle soul who brought so much joy to everyone around him. He loved video games, Flag Football , and cheering for his favorite team — the Green Bay Packers. He was smart, curious, and especially loved math. Joshua also adored his rescue dog, a sweet little Shih Tzu named Bean, who was his loyal companion and best friend.
Joshua was very, caring, and full of love — a boy who made everyone who met him feel special.
In February 2016, when Joshua was just 11 years old, our world changed forever. After a many symptoms and a MRI , doctors discovered a tumor in his brain. The diagnosis was DIPG (Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma) — a rare and very aggressive form of pediatric brain cancer.
It’s something no family should ever have to hear. But Joshua faced it with incredible courage, strength, and grace. He never stopped smiling, never stopped caring about others, and never stopped hoping.
Joshua’s greatest wish was that no other child would have to go through what he did — that one day, there would be hope and healing for children with DIPG. Before he passed away, he selflessly chose to donate his brain and brain stem to research, so that scientists could learn and make progress toward a cure.
By donating in Joshua’s name, you are helping to carry out his final wish and bring hope to other children and families.
Thank you for choosing to donate to The Cure Starts Now Foundation.
Every dollar given in Joshua’s name goes directly to research — helping to find a cure for DIPG and other childhood brain cancers.
Joshua’s light continues to shine through the love he gave, the courage he showed, and the hope he left behind. 💛🎗️
