Get ready North Iowa! This year, our favorite summer tradition is getting a patriotic upgrade. We are fusing our regular Bison Days (July 24–26th) with a nationwide celebration of the USA’s 250th Anniversary! 🎆
We want to see our community glowing in Red, White, and Blue! Let’s show our spirit by decking out the whole town:
🌹Gardens: Plant red, white, and blue flowers in your planters!
🇺🇸 Yards: Line your walkways with flags and patriotic decor!
💡 Nights: String up those lights and let the town shine!
Calling all Parade Participants! 🚜📣
We want this year’s Bison Days Parade to be a sea of Americana. Start planning those floats now—think stars, stripes, and plenty of sparkle!

REMINDER....The Bison Days planning meeting is still being held tonight at 6:30pm at the NIB office. The line dancing lesson is still being held at 6:00pm at Curt's Old Barber Shop. The planning meeting will begin when the folks from the line dance lesson get down to the office (approximately 6:30pm).

Applications are now being accepted for vendors for Bison Days happening July 24-26th! We are looking for the following:

FOOD TRUCKS:
-Friday July 24th (approximately 7-9pm) - snack/treat/beverage truck to serve during youth activities and events
-Saturday July 25th (approximately 10-3) - food trucks and stands and vendors of all varities
-Sunday July 26th (approximately 8-10am) - coffee truck to serve before/during/after community worship

VENDORS:
-Anyone who grows produce, makes homemade foods, bakes treats and breads, crafters and artists of all varities, independent consultants, fundraiser groups (Destination DC kids, church groups, etc.), non-profits....any individual, group, organization or business who has products, services, or information they would like to share with the community during our celebration.

We’re really sorry for the short notice, but due to staff having the flu we need to cancel the Bison Days planning meeting.
To keep everyone safe and give us time to recover properly, we’ve made the decision to reschedule tomorrow’s meeting (March 9th) to next week – Monday March 16th at 6:30 (or immediately after the line dancing lesson ends) at the NIB office. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see you then! If you can’t make it but have input, please comment or send a message.

🌟 Bison Days 2026 – Let's Start Planning! 🌟
Hey everyone! The first planning meeting for Bison Days 2026 is coming up, and you're invited! Whether you've been part of this community tradition for years or you're new and want to get involved, we want your ideas and your voice!

What we'll be discussing:
A potential change in location (we're exploring options to make it even better!)
Fun activities and events for all ages
Volunteer opportunities
Sponsorships, parade ideas, food vendors, entertainment, and more!

This is your chance to help shape what Bison Days looks like this year. Public input is not just welcome — it's encouraged and truly appreciated!

Wow!!!! WHAT A WEEKEND!!!!!!! 💙🦬💙
We absolutely loved seeing everyone at Bison Days 2025 - whether you joined us for a small portion of the weekend or the entire event from start to finish! Whether you walked one block from your house or drove hours to be here with us, THANK YOU! Thank you for showing up and supporting our incredible businesses, organizations, and community! We appreciate you so much!

It's safe to say that our committee is exhausted, but we sure are feeling blessed with the best memories. We are continually reminded how outstanding the people in our communities are and what makes small-town living the best! And an EXTRA BIG thank you to all the volunteers! Without you, this event truly wouldn't be possible!! SO many people stepped up in so many different ways to help.

We'll share photos from the weekend in the days to come. If you captured any, please send our way; we'd love to see them! For now, THANK YOU! 💙

The weekend is not over yet! Make sure to check out all the fun events that are planned for today! What are you most looking forward to? ALL OF IT?! US TOO!

☕ Are you exhausted from all the fun already this weekend? Swing by Post Office Park to fuel your morning with Stompin Grounds! They will be serving from 8:30 - 10am!

🙏 While you enjoy your coffee, we hope you join us for Community Worship at 9:30am in Post Office Park. ALL are welcome! It's the perfect way to start your day! Remember to bring a chair.

🚑 Grab a bite and show your support for our Buffalo Center Ambulance crew at their fundraiser brunch. Enjoy french toast, sausage, fruit & refreshments. YUM! Free will donation!

🎾 Maybe you've heard the hype but never had a chance to try it. Or maybe you're a seasoned veteran. Either way come out to Lion's Park at 1pm for an informal lesson and match led by our community pickleball players! All are welcome!

🏛️ Stop by the Heritage Town Center at 2:00pm for the Buffalo Center version of the Antiques Roadshow. Listen to guest speaker Cindy Sweeney who was part of the real Antiques Roadshow in Des Moines last year. Then bring in your best treasures for an informal show and tell (items will not be evaluated). Followed by cake and ice cream.

🚘 Then, check out all the beautiful rides at the Buffalo Center Car, Bike & Truck Night Show! NO entry free for show participants, and FREE for all to attend!

Lots to do for the kiddos in our earlier post...but there's lots for EVERYONE today at Bison Days. Two important reminders:

BRING YOUR OWN CHAIRS/BLANKETS for Music in the Park at 1:00pm.
BRING YOUR OWN BAGS if you are competing in the ADULT bags tournament.
