For neighborhood reassurance, we did join the Santa Ana PD in the search for the potentially real Gaboon Viper. We were joined by Rockabirdie Reptiles and Forever Wild and after numerous repeated searches of the area and surrounding areas, the area was deemed safe . We're pretty confident, as are most of you that saw the story, that the image was "altered" or potentially "AI."

PUBLIC ADVISORY ‼️ SNAKE SIGHTING ALERT

We have received reports of a snake believed to be a Gaboon Viper, last seen in a tree within a residential neighborhood near Main Street and Edinger Avenue. The snake is estimated to be approximately 4 to 5 feet long.
Gaboon Vipers are highly venomous and are not native to North America.

We are asking the public to please be aware of your surroundings. If you see the snake, DO NOT approach or attempt to handle it.

Please contact the Santa Ana Police Department’s non-emergency line at (714) 834-4211 and provide the location.

As we get closer to the Creepy Critters event, We'd like to thank Reptile Den for taking care of the majority of our substrate need!

For those that have agreed to volunteer or want to volunteer at our Creepy Critters event this year we need to have you signed up for "shifts" so we can get it to the higher ups to get your entry into parking and the event taken care of. Some of you have already been sent the link if so please log in and look at the "shifts" beginning on Sept 24 and ending on Oct 31. If there is a day you can come out but different times than what we are required to have, just let us know and we will add those "shift" hours in.
