Our Story

Brother's Outreach-Knights USA was established in August 2015 by five Letran alumni whose friendship brought them together for a common mission of public service. The organization holds office in Buena Park, California USA, and is an approved 501C3 non-profit charitable organization, certified by the State of California. Their mission is to provide moral and financial assistance to individuals or agencies that promote the well-being of men, women, and children to improve their health, education, knowledge and skills, economic means, and conservation of the local environment on a global extent.

Since its inception, Brothers Outreach has already reached out to the community and has provided assistance to the following agencies:

Department of Social Welfare and Development –Reception and Study Center for Children, Quezon City, Manila.

Armed Forces of the Philippines, Manila

Burog Elementary School, Bamban,Tarlac

Kyle Foundation, Manila

Theresa de Jesus Foundation, Quezon City, Manila

The Brave Warrior Kids Organization, Quezon City, Manila

Barangay 50 Zone 7, Pasay City, Manila

Los Angeles County Fire Department – Explorer Program, California USA (Scholarship)

Assistance provided to them are by way of monetary donation for children with cancer, donation of books and school supplies to students in impoverished areas, academic scholarship, toy donation, and donation of custodial supplies.

Future assistance programs in planning stages include feeding program for senior citizens, tutoring/academic mentorship for elementary school children, professional skills development for adults, and other social service needs program designed to assist all men, women, and children so they may improve their economic situation and livelihood.

The five Letran alumni are the founding directors of Brother's Outreach-Knights USA, and all are accomplished professionals. Their Dominican upbringing and the diversified academic curriculum within Letran formed the foundation they now live to accordingly. By way of reaching out and returning back to the community is the essence of their learning and growth through the Colegio de San de Letran’s vision and mission of community service.

The five Founding Directors are:

• Bernabe “Bernie” R. Gutierrez, HS ’75, married with two children, currently employed by 3M Corporation.

• Michael Santiago “Mike” M. Afable, HS ’75, Coll ’79, married with three children, currently employed by County of Orange Auditor Controller Property Tax Unit.

• Domingo “Dom” T. Ongsansoy, Coll ’70, married with three children, retired; prior to retirement worked a fast food manager, courier service staff, and dialysis technician.

• Ibarra “Barry” B. Valeriano, GS ‘72, HS ’77, married with three children, currently employed by Hast Industries.

• Pablo “Biboy” Robles Jr., GS ’69, married with two children, owner/manager of Christline S. Robles Dental Corporation
