Our kids and our teachers deserve better. Let's elect a governor who has pledged to restore public school funding to a constitutional level and implement a Fair School Funding Plan.

📊 A Look at Ohio's Investment in Public Education

In Fiscal Year 1975, nearly 40% of Ohio's state budget was dedicated to public school students. Today, that number has declined to just 20.1%—nearly half of what it was five decades ago.

At the same time, Ohio ranks 45th in the nation in the percentage of its state budget dedicated to K-12 education, while ranking in the top 10 nationally for reliance on local taxes to support public schools.

This trend means communities are increasingly expected to shoulder the responsibility of funding their schools through local tax dollars rather than through state investment. Understanding how school funding has changed over time is an important part of the conversation about the future of public education in Ohio.

Let's elect a governor who respects our planet.

The federal government took a major step forward Friday toward opening more than 2,800 acres of Ohio’s only national forest to oil and gas development.

One gubernatorial candidate wants to rein in data centers, focusing on protecting workers, communities, and the environment. The other has personal investments in them. That's why we're voting for Dr. Amy Acton.

-------

"In a news release, Acton backed a “conditional moratorium” on new data center construction in Ohio unless they meet a variety of conditions, including that they:

• Are only built on “brownfield” or previously developed industrial sites

• Cover 100% of their electricity, gas, and water costs and prove they won’t increase electricity prices or hurt regional power reliability. Acton said her administration would “prioritize low cost, carbon-free and net-zero energy options, accompanied by storage options.”

• Are built exclusively by union construction workers

• Have full transparency about data-center projects with nearby residents, including ending the practice of having local officials sign nondisclosure agreements that prevent them from sharing details about data-center projects with their constituents

• Meet existing environmental standards, maintain “zero environmental impact” and use “responsible and modern water-management systems that protect local waterways, groundwater, and air”

Acton, as she has before, also called for reining in Ohio tax incentives for data centers, as well as improving transparency around the incentives and adding clawback provisions for taxpayers to recover money from data center projects that don’t live up to their financial promises."

She's been there and remembers people who didn't look the other way. She's here now because she can't look the other way when bad actors and special interests take our state in the wrong direction.

Ohioans deserve dignity, not whatever Ramaswamy's super PAC is dishing out.

I’ll never stop fighting for an Ohio where every person is treated with dignity and has a fair shot to succeed.
