😈 Lucifer is headed back to Cactus Ranch Rescue this week. 😈

Lucifer, lovingly known as Luci, was adopted back in December, but unfortunately due to his owner’s declining health, it is no longer working out through no fault of his own. His senior owner has developed a severe infection with amputations and cannot manage his sass as efficiently anymore without risk to herself.

Luci is a mini Aussie boy with a BIG personality. The best way to describe him? A total Sour Patch Kid — spicy, then sweet. 😂

He is:

🐾 Kennel trained
🐾 Leash trained
🐾 Potty trained
🐾 Full of attitude
🐾 Full of opinions
🐾 Full of chaotic little gremlin energy

Luci is other-animal selective, so he will need slow introductions and the right fit if there are other pets in the home. He can also be a bit of a brat when things don’t go his way, because apparently he believes the world should revolve around him. Honestly, he may not be wrong.

He needs an experienced, adult-only home that understands smart, sassy dogs with teenage attitude. Luci is not the dog for someone looking for easy, quiet, and “go with the flow.” He is the dog for someone who loves a challenge, appreciates a little spice, and can give him structure, boundaries, patience, and love.

He is also obsessed with anything Gremlin-themed and has gone through many gremlin plushies, which feels very on-brand for him.

Luci is cute. Luci is smart. Luci is dramatic. Luci is probably plotting something right now.

And Luci is going to need the right person to love him exactly as he is — spicy moments, sweet moments, gremlin plushie destruction and all. 😈🐾

Oh no… Dakota is being returned, and our hearts are breaking. This is not her fault. 💔

This sweet girl has been in a home for months, and now she has one week to find a foster or adopter before she has nowhere to go. We are foster-based and do not have a facility, so Dakota truly needs someone to step up for her.

Dakota is a young heeler mix, fully vetted, and full of life. She is smart, focused, energetic, and eager to learn — especially if snacks are involved. She loves zoomies in the backyard, soaking up all the pets, and being as close to her people as possible. She has so much love to give and so much potential in the right home.

Like many heelers, Dakota would do best with someone who understands smart, active dogs and can give her structure, patience, and an outlet for all that brain power. She can be a little sensitive about her toes, but food distractions work wonders because this girl is very treat motivated.

Dakota does not deserve to lose everything she knows with nowhere soft to land. Please consider fostering or adopting Dakota. One week is not long, and she needs her person now.

We have some new Cactus Ranch Rescue designs dropping soon, and we are SO excited to finally get these out there.

Hopefully within the next month, we will have merch listed directly on our website that you can order and rep your favorite rescue crew in style. 🌵🐾

And the best part? Proceeds go right back to the dogs.

Every shirt, hoodie, sticker, or whatever chaos we end up creating helps us cover vet bills, food, supplies, spays, neuters, vaccines, heartworm treatment, emergency care, and all the other never-ending rescue expenses that keep our dogs safe and cared for.

🚨 CARDI B IS STILL ADOPTABLE. 🚨
And not only is she still adoptable… she is our CURRENT LONGEST STAY.

Like… HOW?! We are actually offended on her behalf. 😂

Cardi B came to us from a hoarding situation, and this girl has worked SO hard to become the amazing dog she is today. She did not come from a perfect start, but you would never know it by the way she loves people and keeps showing up with the sweetest little heart.

Cardi is around 8 months old, a petite little Chihuahua mix, and somehow she keeps getting overlooked even though she is basically the whole package.

She is:

🐾 Dog friendly
🐾 Cat friendly
🐾 Kid friendly
🐾 Sweet, silly, playful, and full of personality

Cardi B is the kind of dog who deserves to be someone’s little shadow, couch buddy, adventure sidekick, and personal comedian. She has that perfect mix of spunky and snuggly. She wants attention, she wants love, and she wants a family to finally look at her and say, “Yep. That’s my dog.”

We truly cannot understand how this girl has not been scooped up yet. She has survived a hoarding case, adjusted to rescue life, learned her manners, and is STILL sitting here waiting for her person.

That is insane.

Somebody please come get this girl before we all lose our minds. 😭

🚨 URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED BY TOMORROW 🚨

This beautiful young Belgian Malinois/Shepherd mix was dumped at a gas station and left behind like she meant nothing.

But the heartbreaking part? She’s still waiting.

Every time a large truck pulls in, her ears perk up and she watches so closely, like maybe this will be the one. Maybe her person is coming back. 💔

They’re not.

Despite being abandoned, this girl has not given up on people. She is incredibly affectionate, crate trained, dog friendly, and surprisingly calm for a Malinois/Shepherd mix. She desperately wants to be loved.

Right now, the kind finder has her in a 48” crate in her office at an RV park, but she cannot keep her there long term. If there is not a plan for her, she will be taken to the pound tomorrow.

And y’all know what that means for a young Malinois mix with no committed home, no foster, and no safety net.

We need someone to step up now.

Malinois mixes are smart, loyal dogs who do best with structure, patience, and someone willing to help them feel safe. In the right home, they are incredible companions.

She deserves more than being dumped.
She deserves more than waiting at a gas station.
She deserves someone who chooses her.

🌸 Poppy girl is HOME! 🌸

From a hoarding case to her forever family — our sweet Poppy has officially made it home.

This shy little girl came to us from a situation where she had every reason to be unsure of the world, but with patience, love, and a safe foster home, she got her second chance.

One of our amazing staff members graciously drove Poppy all the way to Dallas to meet her new mama, and it was love at first sight. 🤍

These are the moments that make every hard day in rescue worth it. Happy tails, sweet Poppy girl. You are so loved, and we cannot wait to watch you bloom. 🐾🌸

🚗💨 FREEDOM RIDE FOR FE FE! 💕

Everyone meet Fe Fe, the sweetest senior Yorkie girl with a forever tongue-out smile and a heart that just wants a soft place to land.

Fe Fe’s world recently got turned upside down. Her previous family went through a hard divorce, and when her mama had to move in with someone who had a dog that was not safe around Fe Fe, she made the heartbreaking decision to let her go so she could stay protected. That is love, even when it hurts.

Now Fe Fe is officially with Cactus Ranch Rescue and headed soon to her foster home in Tomball soon. She is dog friendly, vetted, and accepting adoption applications. 🐾

Fe Fe is a true little lap baby once she has time to feel safe. She can be nervous around new people at first, but when she warms up, she is all sweetness and snuggles. She is a senior girl, so she needs a soft food diet because she doesn’t have many teeth left — but don’t worry, that tongue-out look is part of her charm. 😭💕

She was housebroken before all the stress and change, but she has regressed a little with everything she has been through. With patience, routine, and love, we know she will settle back in.

Fe Fe is not a fan of loud noises, so her dream home would be adult-only or with older, respectful children who understand that tiny senior dogs deserve gentleness, peace, and patience.

This girl has lost the life she knew, but she has not lost her sweet spirit. Now it is our job to help her find the forever lap she deserves.

💛 Welcome Rue to Cactus Ranch Rescue! 💛

Everyone meet Rue, a 3-year-old Corgi girl who is joining our program through an owner surrender at no fault of her own.

Rue is about 23 lbs and as sweet as they come. According to her previous family, she is a very loving, cuddly girl who loves attention, playtime, and being close to her people. She is outgoing and does great with kids, people, and other dogs. She may be a little shy at first around new animals, but once she warms up, she comes around and settles in.

Rue is also already potty trained and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She is crate trained and used to spending time in her crate.

A little note from her family: Rue does not do well with human food, so her future home will just need to be mindful about keeping her on dog-safe food and treats.

Rue is super sweet, adorable, and ready for a forever family to love her the way she deserves. 🤍

🚨 Valley is STILL adoptable — and she needs our community. 🚨

Valley’s story is one of the ones that makes rescue feel heavy.

She was dumped in the country with her little friend Meadow, left to survive with no answers, no safety, and no one claiming them. When Valley came to us, we quickly realized she was young, heartworm positive, and pregnant — with an unknown history, unknown background, and a body that had already been through too much.

Because Valley is heartworm positive, young, underweight from being failed, and came from a situation where we had no medical history on her at all, our vet made the safest and most responsible call for her health. Valley was spayed, which also ended the pregnancy. It was not an easy decision emotionally, but it was the kindest one for a dog who already needed saving herself.

So far, Valley has cost us over $500 in vetting — and that is before her heartworm treatment is fully completed.

Her care has included things like:

• Exam and intake vetting
• Vaccines and preventatives
• Spay surgery
• Medical care after being dumped
• Heartworm testing
• Upcoming heartworm treatment

And Valley is not our only medical dog right now.

We have dogs needing spays and neuters, vaccines, heartworm treatment, emergency care, mama dogs with babies, and medically compromised dogs who depend on us saying yes when no one else will.

But we can’t say yes without help.

Valley is also still looking for her forever home. She is small, sweet, deserving, and ready for someone to see past her medical story and love her for the amazing dog she is.
