Every kilometre ridden has carried hope, awareness and support for Healing with Horses Zimbabwe.

Throughout Horses for Mental Health month this May, Carlos Kee-Tui has cycled over 1000km to raise funds and awareness for our centre and the children we serve.

Carlos has grown up at Healing with Horses and holds such a special place in our hearts. Watching him give back with such determination, kindness and heart has made us incredibly proud.

Thank you Carlos, for every pedal, every kilometre and every ounce of support you have given to our horses, our team and our children. You are truly inspiring.

We have two days left of the campaign....
If donating is something you would consider, please follow the link below to Carlos' page or his Ecocash line on : +263 77 421 3976 Help him reach his target!

In 1892, Young Bear Chief traveled to Washington, D.C. at the request of his tribal leaders. At the time, he was the youngest — and one of the last — war chiefs. He openly admitted that he did not trust the process because so many promises to his people had already been broken. Still, he went to negotiate on behalf of future generations, standing firmly for hunting rights and worrying about those who would come after him.
In 1903, Young Bear Chief returned to Washington, D.C. to report the parts of the treaty that had been broken. After his death, some of his belongings were taken to the Smithsonian Museum, where they remained for roughly 103 years. One of those items was his coup stick.
In 2026, 134 years after Young Bear Chief first traveled to Washington to advocate for his people, his great-granddaughter, Diana Calf Looking Burd, made the journey to D.C. herself. She met with the archivist at the National Museum of the American Indian. Alongside three generations of her family, Diana was finally able to see the coup stick in person.
The stick was completely covered with markings representing Young Bear Chief’s accomplishments in battle — enemies killed, horses stolen, horses cut loose and captured from enemy tipis, the number of times he escaped while surrounded by enemies, and the times he escaped alone while surrounded.
Today, Diana is working to have the coup stick returned to her family and tribe. Assisting with that effort are her granddaughters through the work of Two Powers Land Collective. In many ways, it feels like everything has come full circle.

It's the final week of the 5th annual Horses for Mental Health Campaign! 💙🐴

There’s still time to be part of this global movement supporting organizations that are bringing hope, healing, and connection through horses.

Throughout Mental Health Awareness Month, 130 program partners across 36 states and 6 countries have come together to raise awareness and critical funding for equine-assisted mental health services. Together, they are sharing powerful stories, building community, and helping make mental health support more accessible for people of all walks of life.

✨ Every donation goes directly to the organization you choose to support
✨ Every share helps expand awareness
✨ Every action helps create more access to care and connection

There’s still time to make an impact before the campaign ends on May 31st.
