Today is 8 months that my 26 year old son, Jason Krell, and the other 6 crewmen from the Seacor Power went missing at sea. On April 13, 2021 midday, the Power left Port Fourchon for her final journey with 19 crewmen on board. It was merely miles off the coast of Louisiana and in only 55 feet of water when a storm formed and the boat capsized. 6 survived, 6 were found deceased, and 7 remain missing to this day. The Seacor 7 families never heard from our loved ones again. Nothing. They just disappeared.

It’s been a horrific 8 months. No offshore worker should go missing at sea, and their family should not have to go through this pain. When I received our first Personal Locator Beacon in the mail, I opened the package, pulled out the device, then immediately put it right back in. Holding a device that could have saved my Jason’s life was more than I could handle at that moment. It still is. Had I known about these life saving devices, I would have bought Jason one. Sadly, I didn’t know.

Part of our mission for Jason’s Beacon is to promote these devices, as well as provide them. Every offshore worker should have one, because horrible accidents happen. They DO happen! I am a living testimony to that. Barely breathing and struggling through each day in a life without my son. This doesn’t have to happen. Please help Jason’s Beacon by SHARING my post and donate if you can in memory of the 8 month “anniversary” of the accident.

I know thousands of people have been praying for the Seacor Power families. I am so grateful and I feel your love. Please continue to keep the Seacor 13 families in your prayers. We are all approaching the holidays and need some healing peace.
