This past weekend four of our members attended the PSEA Central Western Region House of Delegates and Professional Development Conference.

Saturday morning’s classes included strategies on behavior management and student achievement.

Meet our members of the 3rd grade wing at Hickory Grove!

Starting in the front on the left is Elice Morelock and she has been at Brookville for 16 years. She loves to relax with a good book or watch a movie with her husband and dog. She also enjoys spending time outdoors, going for buggy rides or to the river, and traveling to new places.

Emily Keltz has been at Brookville for two years. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree and loves to crochet.

Hannah Lydick has been teaching at Brookville for nine years. She is a member of the Raider Scholastic Foundation and Good News Club. She likes to spend time with her family and husband. She enjoys hiking, biking, and being outdoors. Her favorite things are coffee and donuts.

In the back from the left is Dawn Spellman and she has been at Brookville for seven years. She loves to cook and craft for her family and friends while finding new recipes. She enjoys spending time with her family and critters and also visits the local theater.

Vinnie Esposito has been at Brookville for 10 years. He taught Kindergarten before moving to 3rd grade. He likes to spend time with his family and dog. His hobbies include sports, hunting, and car detailing.

Richelle Greeley has been at Brookville for four years. She loves her family and all of their different activities. She also enjoys relaxing on a sunny beach.

Cassey Bellerillo has been at Brookville for 25 years! She spends her time at home with her family or traveling to see her family out of state. She tries to see the joy in everything she does. She also likes to relax with a good book.

Thank you for being there for our youngest minds at Hickory Grove!

In celebration of Read Across America week, BAEA hosted Bedtime Story Night for the primary grades. A huge shoutout to the members that made this event possible. Pictured below are members Michele Confer, Angie Fye, Georgia Long, Marcy Coleman, Gracie Cressley, Lauren Nosker, Ginger Bish, Cate Gregory, and Erica Grimes. Also pictured is Mrs. Long’s student teacher, Miss Minich.

Students got to come to Pinecreek for a night of story telling in their PJs. At the end of the event students got to take home a book donated by BAEA and a snack donated by PATHS. There were 133 students, 30 high school helpers and 40 parent readers in attendance. We’d like to thank administration, support staff, and PATHS for helping support this long standing tradition.

Meet our 6th grade team here at Brookville:

Elisha Burns has been at Brookville for 3 years teaching Reading and ELA. Elisha also assists with the Friends of Rachel Club, the Summer Literacy Program, and on occasion Raider Time.

Nate Irwin has been at Brookville for 11 years teaching Math. Nate also helps out students at Raider Time.

Jena Bish has been at Brookville for 11 years teaching Social Studies. Jena is also the advisor for the Elementary Student Council. Outside school, Jena enjoys gardening, canning, and spending time with her husband, two little girls, and two dogs.

Alana Anewalt has been at Brookville for 2 years teaching WIN. Alana is the Hickory Grove liaison for Educational Talent Search through PennWest University and HG’s monthly coffee socials coordinator. Outside school, Alana enjoys raising two young children and renovating her 120-year-old home.

Kelsey Shaffer has taught at Brookville for 5 years, with the last 4 years as the 6th grade learning support teacher. Outside of teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, reading, and learning new things.

John Macbeth has been at Brookville for 32 years teaching Science. He enjoys going on family vacations and adventures. He enjoys doing anything in the outdoors, specifically archery hunting and upland bird hunting. Each summer, John enjoys going on a wilderness backpack trip with friends.

Thank you for teaching the oldest minds at Hickory Grove and getting them prepared for junior high!

Meet our first-grade team members from left to right.

Amy Clinger has 22 years at Brookville. Amy enjoys spending time with her two kids and her dogs. She also teaches at the Summer Reading Program.

Angie Dennison has taught at Brookville for 10 years. She enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, reading, and watching Pittsburgh Pirate games.

Marcy Coleman worked with the district between kindergarten and 1st grade for 25 years. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with family, bowling, church volleyball, and dirt track racing. She is also a member of Stanton Community Church.

Georgia Long has 20 years at Brookville between kindergarten, first, and second grade. She enjoys reading, crocheting, and traveling to see her son and daughter-in-law in North Carolina. She also belongs to Brookville Evangelical Methodist Church.

Maggie Brown has taught at Brookville for 3 years. She also works at C and A Trees and teaches at the Summer Reading Program. Maggie enjoys spending time with loved ones, planting, golfing, and traveling.

Come support our BAEA music teachers over the next couple of weeks for their winter concerts! All concerts start at 7pm and will be held in the Brookville High School Auditorium.

Thanks for the shoutout music boosters! BAEA was happy to help support such a wonderful event at the musical this past weekend.
