✨ The trajectory of excellence.
I’ve watched Brooke-Lynn grow from a spark of immense potential into a true dance powerhouse.

Her recent performance at The Ailey School 2026 Explosion was nothing short of outstanding—she didn’t just perform; she commanded that stage.

As a Stars of New York Dance scholarship recipient, made possible by the generosity of the Charles H. Revson Foundation, Brooke-Lynn is the definition of focused. She is skilled, determined, and clearly committed to turning her dreams into reality.

And the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. This photo captures a bond that spans generations. From the days her mom and I spent dancing at church and training for leadership to seeing Brooke-Lynn take that same torch today—it is a beautiful, full-circle legacy.

Brooke-Lynn is taking this further than we ever imagined, with the support of her entire beloved family and community.

She is preparing the ground for the next generation of dancers, and I couldn’t be prouder to see her leading the way. 🩰✨

In his 1960 speech, “Keep Moving from This Mountain,” delivered at Spelman College, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. challenged students to persevere against the “mountains” of segregation and injustice, emphasizing that the speed of progress is less important than the commitment to never stop moving forward.

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.” ✨🏃🏿

We are absolutely beaming ✨✨✨

So proud of you, ⭐️🕺🏾

We had the honor of celebrating Caleb—who is family to us—at the 12th Annual Virtual Salute during the pandemic in 2021. The event, which featured his day ones and those who truly cheer him on like , and members of his St. Paul Community Baptist Church family, recognized his stellar accomplishments.

He’s still rising, and we’re excited to watch him, and what’s next.

Keep shining and lighting the way, Caleb. We are following you. 💜🤍 🖤

As the holiday season kicks off and we enter our favorite season of gratitude, we’re thankful for all of our Stars ✨—the ones on stage and YOU—the ones in the seats. Our incredible audience cheers on our dance couples and children and truly makes the magic happen.

Stars of New York Dance board member Cecily Cooper had a little fun with our guests—putting them in the hot seat—asking why they attend, why this program matters, and the ultimate question… would they dance? 👀💃🏾🕺🏿
