Viking Love NYC is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization founded in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn . We started as a group of friends with a very simple goal: to help those in our community who were in desperate need. We believe everyone has a talent or skill that can aid others. As an organization, it is our mission to leverage all of these great talents and skills in order to help people in our community when they’ve fallen on hard times. When Hurricane Sandy hit we had an immediate call to action to help those in need in Breezy Point, Roxbury, Rockaway, Staten Island, Coney Island, and Gerritsen Beach . We were on the front lines giving out water, food, clothing, medical supplies, baby needs, tools, gift cards and much more. We pumped water and provided demolition to over 50 homes after Hurricane Sandy. We joined forces with the wonderful people at Bay Ridge Cares Kitchen helping prepare and deliver over 25,000 meals to victims and volunteers of the storm. We put together a very successful Christmas Toy Drive with the help of local businesses. We had the pleasure of running a wonderful Dear Santa event for children affected by Hurricane Sandy. The goal was to bring a little bit of joy into the lives of children in need of some Christmas cheer. Children affected by Hurricane Sandy sent a letter to Santa telling him their story and asking for a toy they desired. It was an absolute honor to give a special Christmas to the 25 families who participated in our event. We have participated in playground clean ups in Breezy Point and Roxbury. We also have taken part in Its My Park Day on Shore Road , and the Third Avenue Spring Cleanup. We are currently working on our 2nd Annual Wreaths Across America Event on December 13th.
