All the rave about detoxing and maintaining an alkaline state can be quite confusing, especially when companies are bombarding us with specialty waters, niche fruits and veggies, and prices that are wayyy out of range for the average person. So how can we keep healthy, especially now? We can start by adding more simple veggies to our diet - the classic, dark green ones (Kale, Broccoli, Spinach, Zucchini, etc.)

Green vegetables are the foods most missing in modern diets and they are a great way to build a healthy eating regimen. Imagine these veggies are a washcloth for your internal organs. Each time greens are consumed they literally wipe down the insides of one’s body, freshening everything up, aiding in smooth elimination of toxins and resulting in radiant health. Dark leafy green vegetables literally cleanse your body from the inside out.

Consuming green vegetables regularly have many benefits such as:
Blood purification
Improved circulation
Cancer prevention
Clearer skin
Strengthened immune system
Promotion of healthy gut bacteria
Anti-inflammatory properties
Lifted spirit/elimination of depression

If 2020 has taught us anything, it is to be thankful for GOOD HEALTH! While our homes probably won’t be as packed, it doesn’t mean we cannot enjoy healthy and tasty food. It’s one of those cold days in NYC where you neeed something tasty and dense to warm your bones! 🤣
This was made by roasting large wedges of pumpkin with slices of carrots. While they roast, sautée some onions, crush some garlic, and some ginger for added spice. Season with some sea salt.
Add roasted pumpkin, carrots, as well as sautéed onions, garlic, and ginger to the pot with water or vegetable stock. Let cook for about 20 minutes. If you would like it puréed, use hand mixer until desired texture.
Serve hot and enjoy!
