At just 7 years old, a severe fever permanently took most of his hearing. Now at 20, he is navigating life in a new country with profound hearing loss — and almost no access to the sounds that most of us take for granted.
Over the years, he has shown incredible resilience. He was fit with hearing aids while staying at a youth shelter, but without language access, he was unable to get them serviced or replaced as his needs changed. Today, he has no hearing aids that meet the extent of his hearing loss — and without them, he has no language access at all.
Through the remarkable collaboration of dedicated volunteers, he was recently connected to a free audiology exam. The results were clear: he needs new hearing aids — and the right ones are within reach.
The recommended hearing aids, along with the required custom-fit ear molds, come to approximately $1,772 total.
These hearing aids aren't just a convenience — they are the key to his independence. With them, he can:
