Maize and beans farm ;Rainfall Updates
We are grateful to share encouraging news from Tanzania, especially from Nkwansira-Kinyu, where Thomas Zierk Memorial School is based and currently under construction. The rains have been a blessing for the community, bringing hope not only for the school but also for food security in the months ahead. Recent regional climate updates also show that parts of Tanzania have been receiving useful rainfall, supporting farming activities across the country.
Earlier in January, we were blessed to receive a piece of farming land(2 Acres)about a 45-minute drive from the school. This land has been set aside specifically for growing maize and beans to support the school’s food program.
The area is usually semi-arid, and outside the rainy season very little can grow because water is scarce. However, during the three to four months of rains, the land becomes valuable and productive for crops.
We are thankful that if the rains continue steadily through June ; in can expect a good harvest of maize and beans in July and August. That harvest will help us provide food for the children and support the school community in a meaningful way.Making sure our school becomes self sustainable one step at a time.
We are especially encouraged by this progress, as it reflects both answered prayer and practical provision for the work ahead.
On the other upside: we now have a venmo to ease your way to donate and continue making this work possible and here is the link for you
