🐾 Fall in love with DANDY🍂

This sweet pepper‑faced, 6 yr old basset-mix came into our care after surviving the hardships so many dogs face in the south. Overwhelmed, overbred, mistreated, exhausted, and shut down in a crowded shelter, her eyes told a story of fear and neglect - one we see far too often.

🍂 But her autumn chapter is a brand‑new beginning!

Thanks to our incredible network of volunteers at Tri-State Basset Hound Rescue, DANDY will never have another litter, never face neglect again, and never wonder whether she’s safe. She’s starting heartworm treatment and learning what it means to be cherished and protected - the life she deserved all along.

DANDY is available for adoption and will be ready for her new home in a few months. She is just one of dozens of wonderful hounds we have waiting for their forever families.

Meet Gilbert and Mimi - two sweet hounds who spent months in foster care while receiving the medical treatment, stability, and love they needed. Their foster family showed up for them every single day and this weekend their adopters finally got to welcome them home.

From foster buddies to transport buddies, these two made their journey north together - tails wagging, hearts full, and families waiting with open arms. Their adopters have been incredibly patient and so excited to bring them home, and thanks to our community’s support, Gilbert and Mimi got the care and time they needed to thrive.

💛 This is what your attendance makes possible. Every raffle ticket and merch item purchased and donation made all fuels the medical care, transports, and foster support that give hounds like Gilbert and Mimi second chances. So when you come out this Saturday, you’re not just celebrating Halloween, you are helping the next hound make their journey home.

🐾 Flash Award 2026 🐾

At BassetFest this year, we were honored to present the 8th Annual Flash Award - an award created to celebrate the dogs whose spirit, joy, and presence leave a lasting mark on our rescue family.

This year’s recipient is Bridgette, a beloved basset mix who has been part of Tri‑State for more than a decade. Adopted at age two, Bridgette overcame early medical challenges, beat cancer twice, recovered from a mini‑stroke, and still showed up to life with sweetness, resilience, and her signature “Miss Congeniality” charm. For 11 years, she’s been a familiar face at nearly every TSBHR event, always right by her mom Samantha’s side, spreading happiness wherever she goes.

The Flash Award honors dogs who embody the very best of rescue - love, devotion, joy, and an unforgettable spirit. Bridgette is all of that and more.

💛 Congratulations to Bridgette, our 2026 Flash Award honoree. And thank you, Samantha, for giving her the kind of life every rescue dog deserves.

We’re grateful to everyone who came out, volunteered, supported, and celebrated with us.
