Our fellow Pink Lady Becky Van Meveren was diagnosed with stage one breast cancer last month. Becky was very adamant about checking herself weekly since the BRACA 1 Gene runs in the family. Becky lost her mother at a very young age. Her two sisters and two of her nieces also have had breast cancer along with her grandma an aunt many cousins. Becky started her treatments last week and is very positive on the outcome. We are all here for you, Becky. NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE.

A few of us gals got together to take a check over to Dennis Peterson, his daughter Shawna is our President and also my daughter in law so this hits close to home. Dennis was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer, he is having chemo and the plan is to have surgery in 5 months. Dennis and his wife Dorothy have been big supporters of the Brookings Pink Ladies. Becky presented Robin Cochran with a check from the Brookings Pink Ladies. She was so very thankful and overjoyed, she cried and said that nobody has ever done anything like this for her. Robin is on medical leave from her job, she has 4 small children and could use all of our prayers. NO ONE FIGHTS ALONE

The Brookings Pink Ladies will be busing tables at Pizza Ranch in Brookings on April 20th from 4:30-8:00pm. Take a night off from cooking and come on down and enjoy a great buffet. The money we raise at our fundraisers stay in the community and go to individuals fighting cancer.

This is 4 year old Elaina Rivera. Elaina has ongoing B-cell Leukemia, she has finished her chemo treatments in Sioux Falls and now takes a daily chemo pill. Elaina and her mother Jamie live in Aurora. That are very thankful for our help.
